Today’s Verse:
"Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. " Psalm 51:1-2

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

This verse, like many other verses in Psalms, is about David, who has sinned again, poured out his soul to You Lord in prayer, seeking humbly for Your mighty mercy and grace.

Father, if we are truly sorry and make repentance on our sins, we will never be ashamed. But for David, he just enjoyed to dwell in this cycle of "sin, repent and cry out for mercy", and hence, seemed to be begging for Your pardon of sins and reconcilation ever so often. Still, everytime in his repentance, David feels encouraged, he feels hope that God would graciously accept him once again.

Father, don't we all dwell in some sort of sin cycles, just like David? Father, through the blood of Christ that sprinkled upon our conscience, it washed away all our iniquity and every stain has been cleansed. Father, help us to grow wisdom to resist commiting sins repeatedly, help us to cry out for God's Almighty blessings, help us to believe that our sins are forgiven through Jesus and if anyone is in Christ, he/she is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
