Today’s Verse:
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" Matthew 14:31

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Is life make up of hard walks? There was Abraham who walked with Issac up the mountain Moriah, Moses who walked with the Israelites out of Eygpt through the red sea and there was Peter, walked on the water towards Jesus. These are all meaningfuls stories. For the first 2 stories, by faith, they obeyed, walked and made progress in their lives.

Peter's story was quite depressing because by faith, he stepped out of the boat and by faith, he walked several steps on the water, but when he saw the wind, he was scared by it and he began to sink.

Father, great teaching from Jesus who taught us to focus on Him but not on the circumstances. Indeed Father, when we are faced with situations, we are just like Peter. To get out of them, we do need to take the courage to get out of our "comfort zone" (the boat) and we do need to take more than one step before we can get anything resolved. And so often, we feel there is absolutely nothing that we can do except to put our trust in You. Then, sooner than we know, we would probably question ourselves and we would probabaly start doubting, and we would start to sink...

Father, nobody walks without fluctuation, satan always attack us with the 'what-ifs'. "What if we get too far from the boat and we can't make it to shore?", "What if the money doesn't come through?", "Or the cancer comes back?"... Father, help us to trust You more each day, through our personal walk with You, and through our experience, may we build our faith in You gradually.

Father, one day, may we have enough faith to proudly declare that "We believe that we are walking in the provision of God". Father, You give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. Father, we are those who hope in the LORD, may we renew our strength, may we soar on wings like eagles, may we run and not grow weary, may we walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31).

Thankyou Father, for giving us Jesus Christ our Lord, as our assurance, for if we feel like we are sinking today, we can always cry out for Him and He'll reach out His hand to catch us immediately!

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
