Today’s Verse:
But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
"Come," he said. - Matthew 14:27-29

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for telling us this story about "faith". The verse for today is about the story of Peter, who took courage to step out of the boat to walk on the water towards Jesus but was distracted by the wind and the storm around him.

Father, don't we all need some boldness in our lives? Like Peter, he saw this figure walking on the water towards the boat and after he believed the figure was Jesus, he took courage to step out of the boat and started walking towards Jesus, his Saviour. In reality, not many of us could do just that. Not many of us are willing to step out of our comfort zone to serve Him. Not many of us are willing to talk about religion in public!

Father, sometimes we say we trust but like Peter, when we saw the wind, we will feel afraid and our "faith level" will also begin to drop... Surely, we will cry out, "Lord, save me!", "Lord, save me!", "Lord, save me!" repeatedly!

Father, faith is built on trust, trust is built on knowledge, built on past experience and therefore Father, discipline us, help us to remember to read Your words daily, help us to remember to count our blessings and help us to concentrate on Jesus, and forget about the wind, storm, water or sea outside.

Father, without faith it is impossible to please You, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6).

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
