Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
In Ephesians 4:26-27, apostle Paul said “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold." Father, I must say that this is easier said than done. Everyday, there are so many emotions going on in our lives: happy, unhappy, joy, contentment, pleasure, comfort, sad, tragic, joyful, sorry, down, dreadful, hopeless etc. There are at least 50+ words of expressions which started with A!
So, Father, if we cannot control our emotions, then can we learn to rejoice and control our temper? As Paul said in Philippians 4:10-13: "I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength."
Father, everyday, even in the church holy ground, we punch in the obstacles, not so much in a negative way but in big enough shock and terror. Father, help us to stand firm and grant us the super-natural strength abundantly, so that we may fight against the hardships. Father, Jesus won His battle over death, therefore let us repent our sins so that we may seek for the full assurance of faith and hope, through Him, in our midst of pain, and in our prospect of death!
Father, today we live in the world, which is similar to the metropolis of Corinth, which was a city bound in the devil's darkness of worldly wealth and commerce, paganism and heathen religions, sexual immorality and drunkenness, and the love of human philosophy and wisdom. Father, overflow us with Your fullness, we need You to send Your great love to the world, send Your blessings to the world, send Your kindness to the world, send Your Holy Spirit to safe-guard the people in this world, until the day where there is no sun-rise and no sun-set.
May Christ give us faith, and increase our faith, so that we may feel safe, joyful and triumphant.

Inspired by the prayer from "Hour of Power": Lord, Today I pray for people around the world. I forget my own needs and focus on the needs of others. Lord, bring to my attention faces and voices, minds and lives from lands near and far. What a mixture of human personalities You have created. Send Your Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, over the nations, crossing all borders and barriers. For this I pray. Amen.

Today's Verse:
"And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.” - Luke 1:20
Heavenly Father,
The famous story about "Jesus Walks on the Water", illustrated how Peter "sinked" into the water as he lost faith toward Jesus. Interesting enough that there was another short but precise story about the same topic "faith". Thankyou Father, for giving us this story of Zechariah (Luke 1).
Zechariah was a man of God, a minister of his day. Together with his wife Elizabeth, they had served God their entire lives. Then one day in his aging years while tending to his duties in the church, the Angel Gabriel came to visit Zacharias abd told him about the coming of his God granted gift, a son called John. But Zachariah had a little trouble believing the unbelievable, so he asked for a SIGN and Gabriel said "You will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words..." (Luke 1:20).
Zachariah's story reminds us "not to doubt and unbelief in God's ability to heal or restore us from our broken lives".
Father, sometimes, we are messed up and worsen, we might not even realised that we're messed up! Father, we are only average human in the world, somewhat polluted, if we failed to believe in your promises or your will for us, mute us, like you have muted Zachariah, so that we may learnt our lessons and get back "on to track" and get on the path which you have prepared for us i.e. kick start our better lives from where we have got lost!
In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
