Today’s Verse:
"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." – Jeremiah 33:3

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Two kids felt that there was no way out in their circumstances and ended their precious lives yesterday.

So often, we too want to "walk away" or "escape" from our situations. When we feel despair, when we feel sad, when we feel unloved, when we feel unworthy, when we feel trushed etc. every unpleasant situation could turn us into a turmoil. At some point, if we let ourselves overwhelmed by these negative feelings bad enough, we would really want to hide ourselves from all and everything, because we were dwelling in our deep depression already.

So, Father, it is always important that we didn't bottle up our emotions. Father, as we call onto You, we may seek for the release of our emotional feelings by tears like Jesus, who wept over Lazarus's death.

Father, it is also important to remind us that You are the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. Father, You are so able to turn the situations around with no effort, therefore we should never be dismayed. And that we should acknowledge Your presence with us. As we remain close to Him as the air we breathe, we should also feel close to His grace and blessings.

So next time, when we feel:
□ Never ending as we wait for something we want? Let us breathe in Your patience, Lord.
□
Frustrated with a family member or friend or boss? Let us breathe in Your understanding, Lord.
□
Disappointed? Let us breathe in Your grace and blessings, Lord.
□
Facing financial difficulties? Let us breathe in Your provision, Lord.
□
Burdened? Let us breathe in Your miracles, Lord.

Father, nothing is too small for You to help us. Father, as we call on to You, please answer us swiftly and offer us Your Almighty help.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips." - Colossians 3:8

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

It is important for us to keep our body and mind fit. To stay physical healthy, we should consider to cease some of our bad behaviors and habits or we may stop eating fatty foods or we may start doing daily exercises. To stay spiritually healthy, be close to You Lord may be the only way.

Thankyou Father, for allowing Paul to list out some of the very HARSH standards for being spiritually fit in Colossians. How we "getting rid of things" is one of them. This verse holds the same idea as what Jesus said in Matthew 5:29 "If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell..." But why? It is because God wants us to use the same seriousness and intensity to address the problems we faced in our lives.

Heavenly Father, of course it is hard for us or anyone of us to get rid of all those anger, rage, malice, slander etc. which Paul had listed out. We are weak and we may not be able to control ourselves to feel a little bit angry if someone jumped the queue, or to speak filthy languages if someone offended us. But Father, with Your constant grace and blessings shed upon us, each and everyday, we may just hold a chance here to get rid of "our old selves" entirely and restore our capacity to live our lives in abundance, in accord with Your intentions.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." - James 5:16

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Sometimes, we were hurt by people unintentionally, sometime, we put bandages on these wounds and hid them away. Sometimes, we are so weak that we choose to forget about them, rather than open them up and let You Lord to deal with them.

These wounds could be:

- "I opened my heart but was betrayed, I will not trust anybody again."
- "I was being rejected, it hurts. From now on, I will reject before I am rejected."
- "I shared my feelings, but people used them to attack me, to betray me, I'll never
open up the real 'me' to anyone ever again."
- "People just use others as stepping stones, as doormat. I'll look for opportunities
and also be careful not to be taken advantage of."

Father, the more we hid these wounds, the more we didn't open up to receive Your healing, ..., the worsen they would get, and one day, we become people with "heart of stone". Father, teach us how to deal with our wounds, how to confess our sins, how to love one another, how to allow the holy spirit to reach into the depths of our wounds, so that our weaknesses, concerns and the concrete of the problems may be revealed to us. Father, forgivesness is not easy and the process of finding our hurts and pains plus the healing could be long and painful but help us Lord, do not let us to remain as hard-hearted people.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! " - Philippians 4:4

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Baptism is a religious sacrament marked by the symbolic application of water to the head or immersion of the body into water and resulting in admission of the recipient into the community of Christians. By this, may we get ourselves prepare to welcome Jesus into our lives to save us, lead us, cherish us, love us, change us, mold us and walk with us for the rest of our lives.

For those of us who are baptised already, may we continue to dedicate some quiet time to talk to Jesus eveyday, may we still open our hearts and minds to welcome Jesus, may we allow Jesus to continue His good works in us.

Let us remove any traces of sadness in our lives and ask God to replace them with joy and hope.

May we start sharing our abundant lives with others, may we join volunteer work at church or in other places. For God looks after all of us, even the lowliness of your servant. Let God be glorified in our act of serving.

Lord, grant us Your favour, Your grace and blessings we so desperately need, today, tonight, tomorrow and every day of our lives.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." - James 4:10

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Thankyou for looking at us as Your children. Thankyou for not looking at us with a "ruler", or judging our performance. Thankyou for loving us unconditionally.

Father, through Jesus, You teach us to humble ourselves, to serve our brothers and sisters, to serve the poor, the sick and the needy, but just how many among us can really do that whole-heartedly? If we have pride in our heart, can we love? Likewise, if we judge people with worldly standards, if we evaluate the value of friendship or calculate the benefits from doing good deeds etc. Can we really take up servanthood?

Father, we are Your children no matter whether we do good or not because You love us, not that we derserve You love, grace or blessings. Father, help us to visualised that, help us to love others in return because You have loved us first.

Father, there are people out there who are really hungry for someone to hold them, for someone to talk to, for someone to go to places with, to share their bits and pieces in life with, to pray with and to learn more about Jesus with. Father, help us to be more caring, to be more sensitive, to be more outgoing, so that we may feel the needs of others (instead of our own), so that we may glorify Your name by being loving and caring christians in the community.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. " - Psalms 37:5-6

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

We always come across quotations of famous people when they talked about faith and trust.

Joni Erickson Tada said "Faith isn't the ability to believe long and far into the misty future. It's simply taking God at His Word and taking the next step." But sometimes, people would say "I can't even hear from God, where and how should I take the next step?" But experienced christians would know that God leads us in mysterious ways: He will talk to us if He wishes, He will send us angels to assist us in times of need, He will catch our attention to books, paragraphs or bible verses etc.

So, Father, we trust that You will guide us and lead us alright and though we may not be able to hear from You, we believe Your promises and we commit our ways to You. Lord, make our paths straight, take away the humps and bumps, take away all the evil essences especially temptations and walk with us, every step of our lives.

" Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God. " Psalm 42:5

Father, we believe that You are righteous and just; we shall never give away hope. So "Every day do your best. God will do the rest."

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth." – Genesis 9:13

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Throughout the old testament, You had so many convenants, agreements with all sorts of people. One of the most fascinating one must be the convenant with Noah.

The story of Noah is about him, building an ark, according to Your will. Even though other people turned their backs on You, even though other people laughed at Noah, he honored and followed Your commands, as Your faithful servant. Father, after the disaster, You made this simple yet powerful convenant with Noah and his descendants, saying "Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth." And that no one should ever forget about this convenant, by seeing the rainbows in the sky after rain.

Father, we know You love us, we know that even without any physical documents of Your love to us, we know that You will continue to love us and cherish us, no matter what. Father, throughout the bible, You listed out all sorts of promises to us, but, will the facts ever change? Will You turn to us one day and said "I don't love You anymore!" No!

Father, Thankyou for the rainbow, Thankyou for giving us assurances that You are our Mercyful God who always keeps His promises.

Father, Thankyou for Your positive promises, Thankyou for promising us that You will never to leave us or forsake us so that we can all enjoy life of abundance.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. " - Matthew 11:28

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Calm the souls in Manila, may hope and peace be with them today today and always.
With Sympathy

Father, for now, we are afraid to walk the streets, we are afraid to go outside, we are afraid of going on holidays, we are afraid to go on buses, we are afraid .... O Lord, for we all feel that death could be so close, could be only a breath away! That ex-policeman, with guns in his hands, killed hostages, in return, those existing policemen, killed him.

O God, hear our prayers. Welcome those into Your arms, send angels to comfort their families, friends and neighbours. Protect the remaining from violence, from danger until the day they see Jesus Christ.

Give us the courage to face life now as well as in the days to come. Father, calm our minds and souls and keep us in perfect peace.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request. - 1 Chronicles 4:10

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Teach us how to pray. Around 10 years ago, a faithful servant of Yours, Bruce, wrote a pocket size book named "The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to the Blessed Life". The book simply talked about this bible verse "1 Chronicles 4:10" in the old testament and suggested how we should pray simple prayers to You, Father.

The message is very clear and direct 1) "Jabez called on the God of Israel", 2) "pray" and 3) God granted his request.

Father God, help us to understand that You are our Heavenly Father and we can always approach You with boldness to ask for better things in our lives because we know that Jesus has rebuild our relationship with You, through his blood. And Father, when we pray to You, we open up our lives to You, so that You may help us, so that You may change our lives.

Let us take on Bruce Wilkinson's challenge - "I challenge you to make the Jabez prayer for blessing part of the daily fabric of your life... you'll be noticing significant changes in your life, and the prayer will be on its way to becoming a treasured, lifelong habit."

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God." Romans 15:7

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

There was this story about an African-American family who inherited an handsome amount of US$100,000 from their father's insurance. Both the mother, the son and the daughter wanted the money for their own purposes. The sum went to the son who wanted to do business with friends but at the end, he was betrayed and robbed by them. As the sister tongue-lashing her brother, the mother said "I thought I taught you to love him. There's always something left to love. Have you cried for that boy today? For what he's been through and what it done to him?"

Father, we can never choose our family, but we can choose to love them unconditionally or just walk away. Father, teach us how to treasure our family, our own flash and blood. Father, teach us how to love and cherish our family. Father, give us the most sincere heart to forgive them, for whatever they have done, just like the father who welcomed his son into his arms, in the prodigal sons parable.

Father, we have always wondered when it would be the time we should love somebody the most. When they done good? When they showed kindness and love? Then, we love them back? No, no, no! Father we should really love somebody and show them compassion (from Latin: "co-suffering") when the persons were at their lowest, when the persons can't even believe in themselves, when the persons were lost in the midst!

Father, we love our family. Father, we are commanded to love our neighbours as ourselves, hence, let us extend our love and good heart to the brothers and sisters around us.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace." - Ephesians 1:7

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Everyday, we have this constant struggle with forgiveness. We may get so fastrated with people who jumped the queue, who hit us accidentally with whatever they're carrying... Sometimes, we may get angry because some friends or some people mindlessly said something to us which may hurt us emotionally... Likewise, we may hurt other people unintentionally.

Sometimes, we will feel, everything should be fixed by saying "I'm sorry." But it is not that simple in many or if not all the cases...Sometimes, we will feel "He/She needs to learn a lesson, I am doing him/her a favour." and be stingy in giving out "mercy" to this poor person...

Father, we are commanded to forgive our brothers and sisters, the same way as You have forgiven us. Take Joseph for example, Father, He had all the rights to hate his brothers, for what they had done to him but then, he forgives. How do we know that he have truely forgiven them? How do we know that it wasn't just "an act"? Because Joseph had named his son "Manasseh" - "one who causes to be forgotten". Another example will be Jesus, after He was being mistreated, He said "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

Father, help us in all ways and everyway, to break these strongholds in our lives, strongholds of blame, guilt, pain, insisted on punishment, tears, groans, sadness, rejection... May we open our hearts and minds to welcome Jesus to come into our lives and help us to clean up this mess and break up all these chains to strongholds.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Remebered there was a Soviet submarine Kursk went down in the Barents Sea and the sailor knocked, saying "Is there any hope?".

Father, every now and then, we may believe that we are trapped in some impossible situations, which are out of our "control" and that we cannot see "a way out" and there is no way to change or escape....Father, quickly remind us to hold on to faith, hope and love in You. Father, we trust that You have plans for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us. Father, the hurt only comes from the way we
look at the situation, so Father, open our eyes to SEE things in Your
prospective, not in man's prospective.

Father, if hope is the most active force in the world because it's from You, help us to FEEL Your holy presence whenever we loose faith, whenever we loose heart and whenever we loose sgiht of our future.

Father, what is life? What is the meaning of life? If life are merely experiences, then why can't You show Your mercy upon us and make all our experiences exceptionally GOOD in our lives?

Father, You are in control of everything, You can save us in a swift second, You can turn all our sorrow into joy, all our bitterness into happiness. But Father, troubles are really experiences which help us to GROW in You. So, Father, help us to go through our troubles through hope, through faith, through love and through perseverance.

Father, please continue to mold us, shape us and change us into people we didn't start out to be. Please show us our life's purposes in each and every one of us.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?" Amos 3:3

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Relationship is a strange thing. Sometimes, people decide to walk together and sometimes, they decide to walk separately. Other than friendships or relationships, some people even walk away from their families.

Father, we all know that family can be a source of both joy and conflict. We love our family, but occasionally, family members can still drive us crazy. Father God, help us to control our temper, help us to be patient, kind, and loving, help us to be sensitive to their needs. Help us to care for each other and thrive together as a
family.

Father, loving a significant individual is hard and challenging. Relationships take dedication, compassion, and hard work. So God, please guide us to walk on our paths of love together. Guide us by shining on our feet with Your light, so that we may see where You are leading us. Remind us to seek for You advice, no matter what troubles may come along the way, so that we may keep our open minds and compassionate
hearts, to sustain our love relationship in Your glory.

Father, loving our friends are easy, but sometimes friendships may be destroyed by misunderstanding of all sorts. Jesus calls us to love our enemies, God, You know that is practically imposssible because enemies just drive us crazy. Father, we all know it is important to follow Your command, so Father, with Your strength, teach me how to love as You love, that we may love our enemies the way You love us.

Help us to practice how to love now!

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name." - John 15:16

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Teach us how to pray! We want to learn how to pray to You, how to be effective, how to get Your attention and how to get responses from You - FAST!

Maybe we should pray to You using the technique used in the kindergardens. Father, they teach these kids how to pray to You in this form of ‘arrow’ prayers. It is simply a quick prayer to You, like an arrow shooting up to heaven!

Is this not a good way of praying? Nowadays, we are always in the middle of busy situations and hence, we are finding these long wordy prayers somewhat difficult. Of course if only God will listen to these "short bursts" of prayers, then "arrow prayers" is actually a good way to pray to God Almighty.

Father, remind us that You're only a prayer away from us and if we never fire these "arrows" out, how can we ever receive any answers?

Help us to put these arrows into practice, Father.
"Father! I'm feeling depressed!"
"Father! I'm loosing air and I'm feeling meaningless."
"Father, make haste to help me !"

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." - Romans 15:4

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Nature, nature, nature! Thankyou for giving us natural scenery and the elements of the natural world, as mountains, trees, animals, or rivers etc. For "He gave us eyes to see them, And lips that we might tell, How great is God Almighty, Who has made all things well.?!"

Shouldn't we rejoice always?

A man who lived a decade ago, John Muir said "Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul." Indeed! Father! What's more can we ask for? Except for Your grace and mercy be upon us. How much more can you take care of us with? In the morning, You wake us up with robins, sparows singing, You clothe us with bright sun and light wind. In the evening, You send us nightingales to sing softly, and You quiet down the rest of the world so that we may enjoy the peaceful, soundless and restful atmosphere.

"Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need; the remainder is needed by others." - Saint Augustine

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." - Hebrews 12:15

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

What does bitter taste like? The favour will only stand out if we eat it with sweet food.

Father, life is bitter if we look at it bitterly, taste it, feel it and treaure it as bitterness. It will surely detroy our joy or even a lifetime of enjoyment. So, Father, we beg You to replace all bitterness in our lives with the sweet taste of Your forgiveness, Your mercy and Your grace.

Father, You are our loving Father and we love You. We will do what You have commanded us to do and this is "To love one another as ourselves". Father, as Norman Vincent Peale said "The way to happiness: Keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much. Scatter sunshine, forget self, think of others. Try this for a week and you will be surprised." Help us to do just that!

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." – 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

There are people who are talented, skilled, and full of potential, yet they will not listen to your views or point of improvements. They will tend to treat them as criticism. Sometimes, they will even think, "Who do you think you are? You don't have the looks, the money, the intellect, the connections, or the talent."

Father, You have commended us to love one another as ourselves, so please help us to forgive their behaviours. Father, we may not have the looks, the money or the talent, but we do have a passion and a heart for them, to advice them and to encourage them to be their better self. Father, many of them may be too proud to accept, even to proud to accept our prayers for them, but Father, it is written "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.", help us to stand by them with Your Almighty strength and teach us how to make them understand that we are only trying to stand by them as brothers and sisters in Christ.

As Joyce Meyer said "God asks you and me to put our faith in Him and to believe that we can do whatever He asks us to do. He is mighty to uphold us and to make us stand! He will support us and keep us from falling."

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." - Hebrews 13:5

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Thankyou for the timeless words from Margaret Fishback Powers (See note). Along our way of lives, we will feel insecure, sometimes even on the tiniest things.

Whenever that comes along, we should seek help from the bible:
"Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away." Isaish 35:10
"My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life." Psalm 119:50

Father, we must say that the bible verses do give us strength and relieve for a moment, but how long this "moment" last really depends on one simple question : "Do you trust God?"

Father, it is so simple to say "I trust You, I have faith in You" and yet it is hard to put it into practice. If we focus on the problems, we would say "Hmm... I hate this, I am going to ..........." Father, so often, when we feel sad and miserable, we said we would come to You but, in the end, we would make up our own decision, say, "I dislike the job, I will go and find another one" or "I dislike this church, I think I'll find another church that suit my style." Father, You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, You make all things bright and beautiful, You are the fountain of life, help us to trust You enough to allow You to heal our broken-hearts and bind up our wounds. For there is a purpose in the circustances which You want us to learn and to prosper out of them. Father, when there is no way, You will make a way for us.

Father, help us to turn to You when we need more reassurance.
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

We are not alone and we will never be. Thankyou Father.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

===
Note:
"One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonged to me and other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path there was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the lowest times in my life. This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it. 'Lord, You said that once I decided to follow You, You would walk with me all the way. But I notice that during the worst times in my life there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why in times when I needed You most, You should leave me.' The Lord replied, 'My child, I love you and would never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. When you saw only one set of footprints... they were Mine. It was then that I carried you!'"

Today’s Verse:
"As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him." - Matthew 9:9

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Isn't it interesting to see how Jesus look at people, especially sinners? Help us to learn from the words and deeds of Jesus, He never make judgements on people, He just go and talk to them, with love and passion, cure the ones who need healing, be with the ones who need caring and join with the ones who need sharing...

Father, Matthew made the "following Jesus" act so true but yet simple. Jesus said "Follow me" and he left everything to follow Him. "The end." Father, how can this be? So often, You issue us invitations, soft and uncomplicated ones, to change us and mold us, in baby steps and yet, we choose to response to them by saying "Maybe next time" or "Maybe later" or "Perhaps not"...

As Florence Nightingale said: "Life is a hard fight, a struggle, a wrestling with the principle of evil, hand to hand, foot to foot. Every inch of the way is disputed. But the night is given us to take breath and to pray, to drink deep at the fountain of power. The day, to use the strength that has been given us, to go forth to work with it till the evening."

Father, help us to be bold and courageous and take these baby steps You told us. Help us to accept Your grace and blessings and be in Your love and embrance!

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, 11in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes." - 2 Corinthians 2:10-11

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Satan, whom the Bible refers to as 'the tempter', works on us every second of our lives. Satan will put his bait on the hooks and will wait patiently for us to be tricked. His best bait is all these 1/2 truth and 1/2 lie statements.

Father, wasn't this way he used to trick Eve, our mother of all nations? The serpant (satan) said "You will not surely die, for God knows that when you eat of the apple your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." Father, what satan said was partly true "You will surely not die" - Yes, she didn't die "right at that instance" but because Eve had eaten the apple and she had broken God's rules and hence, she died at the end, because of aging.

Father, help us to understand that there are places we shouldn't go, habits we shouldn't indulge and words we shouldn't say. Father, we don't want to fall into all these satan's traps and make our lives more miserable. Father, help us to turn to You always, when we get into trouble, help us to trust You and to love You. Father, help us to build our relationships with You, help us not to fill our souls with the wrong things. Hence, Father, by Your grace, grant us wisdom to distinguish what is truely good or bad for us. Protect us from satan's evil schemes.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge—to the great amazement of the governor. " Matt 27:14

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Don't we all love to prove that we are right? Sometimes, because of this, we will speak to friends or family in a louder and louder voice...we want them to agree with us, we want to be righteous?! Father, we are called to love our neighbours, we do love our friends and family, so why should we hurt each other by arguing? Is proving who is right or wrong more important? Or is remain in harmony and in love more important?

Father, grant us wisdom in speech, help us to analyse the situation, and decide how to response to people who tried to accuse us. If we love really the people we argued with, Father, grant us preserverance to get through the situation by learning to make "no reply". Father, help us to give our burden to You, if we still feel pain or grief inside us by being "silent".

Father, You love us and You want us to live in happiness. As it is written "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness."

Thankyou Father for loving us, so that we have strength to love others.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master." Genesis 39:2

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Do we believe in You? Do we really believe in You? Lord, there are so many times in life that we just didn't see our future, in the eyes that You see our future. Lord, we can be so dwelled into our own world, when we need comfort, we call on to friends or family, when we need things ... But have we ever thought about that You have already planned the best for us?

Father God, so many times, when we feel down and miserable, You send out angels to help us and so often, we didn't see them as "angels". Lord, we don't need heroes or heroines to save us, but why are you sending these birds, butterflies, frogs, eagles, thunders, lightening, storm, wind, blue sky....

Lord, remind us of Joseph, who didn't come from an ideal family, he got sold into slavery, yet he turned out to be a man of greatness. God, sometimes, You really make us wonder how or why You would do such things. You know what? Troubles didn't come to our door-steps for no reason, they came along our way so that we would prosper by them, through the grace of God. Thankyou Father, for sending all these "angels" to protect us along our way. We know, for children, You will probably send us real angels, but for grown ups, we are less dependent and hence, maybe eagles, birds, butterflies will do the "trick".

Thankyou Father, regardless of what happened yesterday, as long as we remain faithful, Father, we are sure You can rearrange tomorrow in our favours.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." - Proverbs 17:22

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

If only we could keep a clear conscience and a quiet mind at all times, then, our world will look so much brighter and more prosperous.

Sometimes, we heard too much news, good news, bad news...but bad news in large proportions. Most of the time, talking became small arguements, then fights, then ... Father, help us to take control of our bodies, so that we wouldn't do or say things which will make oursleves regret. Father, hold our unbridled tongue, for even one word thoughtlessly spoken may destroy our happiness of a lifetime. So Father, help us to remember - a still tongue makes a wise head.

It is written in James 5:13 "Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise."

So Father, may we let the word of Christ richly dwell within us, with all wisdom teaching and let us admonish each other with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, despite of our circumstances. Father, may we sing with thankfulness in our hearts to You, in good times or bad. For only by Your grace that we can stay cheerful.

Father, maybe due to our responsibilities, at work or at leisure, that we have to do things that aren't enjoyable. Father, remind us to respect You and respect Your decision to put us where we are, with people whom we like or dislike, respect or not, love or not, cherish or not, remind us that we are living our lives for You, Lord! You are the real boss and our futures are in Your hands!

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction." – Isaiah 48:10

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Thankyou for changing and molding us, each and everyday, through circumstances. As it is written "I will refine them like silver and test them like gold." Father, nobody is perfect, but Thankyou for forgiving us and Thankyou for giving us chances to make corrections, by Your grace.

Everyday, we face troubles, some are easily resolved and some aren't. But through these trials, our knowledge, skills and wisdom will definitely be improved gradually. So Father, Thankyou for not taking care of all our troubles and worries, allowing us to have these chances to enahnce our mind and souls. For Father, You choose to refine us, You choose to begin a good work of grace in us, in the furnace of affliction.

As Charles Spurgeon said "Our trials will seem to us nothing at all. We shall talk to one another about them in heaven, and find all the more to converse about, according as we have suffered more here below. Let us go on, therefore; and if the night be ever so dark, remember there is not a night that shall not have a morning; and that morning is to come by and by."

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going." – Hebrews 11:8

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

There are too many times that we experience lost in this world. Some people may be single or divorced and have lost their "love relationship" identity. Others may have lost their jobs and lost their "status" identity...and Father, there are just too many losts around us!

God, when we feel unease and need someone to lean on, remind us that "the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." God, when we feel weak and need someone to hold on, remind us "For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth."

Father, You have called Abraham to leave his habitat and he did. Father, You have called him to step into a territory he didn't know of and he did. And why? Father, if Abraham can bravely stepped out in faith, so can we! Father, if You ever call on us, assist us to be like Abraham, help us to step out in faith, even if we have to leave our comfort zone, to a place where we feel inadequate or unprepared.

Father, perhaps, You only asked us to go to church every Sunday, or to go to do some voluntary work or church work, or to be a good listener, or to help a brother or sister in Christ.... Father, although, we were not called to sacrifice ourselves, like the Christians in the old testiment, we are sure that You will be proud of us, even though we are only taking small steps in helping others or spreading Your words... for You will always look at our heart and mind and soul, our obedience and our faith, more importantly than any other things.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. " 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Love is patient. - Father, grant us patience to deal with difficult people in our lives. Help us to forgive the person who has been wronged instead of using our power to "get even" with him/her.

Love is kind. - Father, grant us wisdom to help others eagerly and sensibly. Help us to reach out to those in need with passion.

Love does not envy. - Father, assist us to excuse or pardon those who are selfish, because they think of themselves too much and others, too little. Remind us always, Lord, to love generously. Let us stay loving even when we encounter people who are less talented than us, yet live better. Father, everyone's path is designed by You Lord, help us to understand Your purposes and Your will, help us not to resent or feel jealous, as they have only sown different seeds in life and got different harvest from us, that's all.

Father, we are still "love" learners with only a "practice licence". We don't know whether we can love with true courtesy. We don't know whether we can be truely polite, considerate and caring about other people's feelings. We don't know whether we can love our enemies. But let us practice prayers Lord, let us pray that by Your grace, we can spread Your kind of love as well when we spread Your words in this world.

Stephen Grellet said “I shall pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it, or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”

May God help us to live lovingly and passionately, now and ever. Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." – Psalm 121:1-2

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

We can so weak and fragile that we did not even call for Your help! Sometimes, when we feel so lost, we may prefer to hide from the world, to hide from You... And yet, is this the correct attitude?

Father, You are good and gracious and You are our God Almighty, when we need help, of course we should come to You! Father, when we are struggling spiritually or physically, about anything, help us to come boldly to You, to initiate our emergency calling system to call on to You, the Lord of the Lords and King of the Kings. Then patiently wait for Your rescue.

Father, whenever, we feel desperate, tell us, make us know that You are only "a prayer away". Help us to trust and honour Your powers. Help us to respect Your genuine love for us. Lord, when there seems to be "no way", help us to look up to the hills, to You, and seek for our help from You, Father, who made the heaven and earth!

Help us to speak aloud, “O God, come to my assistance; O Lord, make haste to help me! I need Your help, right now!!!!!!!!!!!”

In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”- 1 Samuel 16:7

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

The world is judging us at all times by our appearance. Sometimes, we ourselves make judgements on people and make mistakes on these judgments too! But Father, Thankyou for this crucial promise, because only You can tell what we are, for You look at our hearts, our true inner selves.

Father, brought us back to the time when You selected David as King. It was very surprising for us to learn that out of the seven sons, You chose the very youngest, You chose the boy who was doing nothing more than looking after the sheep in the fields! Father, Thankyou for Your demonstration, on how You didn't judge any of us according to our outward appearance but according to our hearts.

What are You looking for when You look at our hearts? What are You searching for? You are looking for what is in you and me - our spiritual character.

Father, create in us pure hearts and renew the steadfast spirits within us. Father, continue to mold us and change us, open our hearts, make them friendly, totally unbias and unjudgemental, so that we may be capable in living the will of God.

In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God." - Ruth 1:16

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Improve our ability to truly relate to others. Lord, we want to walk in the love of God, and we believe You have planned the best for us. On the way to our destiny, may You help us to maintain good relationship with the people around us, to share God's words with them and to support each other in times of need.

Father, we may be in a relationship now, waiting for a relationship or trying to maintain one. It is written "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud." Father, we would like to be good and honest, pure and lovely, so please, shower us with Your love and kindness, help us to try our best to maintain relationships. Father, we are only human, but by Your grace, we must be able to seek the best out of people.

Father, for the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Help the "wives" among us to be submissive to their husbands. Help the "husbands" among us, to love their wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. Help us, who are still waiting or dating, to practice this theory in heart.

In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." - Romans 10:13

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

You are the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, we praise and worship You alone.

Father, we are sorry for not trusting You in times of weakness. We sometimes do doubt Your powers and we doubt Your "so-called" unconditional love. Father, we pray to You everyday and yet we may not receive any answers from You. Lord, but some others would tell us every week about Your amazing deeds, about how You took care of them on burdens they put on You.

Father, Your relationship wiith everyone of us are different. Some of us are fragile and they do need more attention from You. Some of us are less intelligent and hence, they do need more direct answers from You. Lord, teach us how to pray to You, how to open our hearts and welcome You as Lord our God, how to let You know our needs, our concerns and most importantly, how to listen to You.

Father, You called us Your sheep and You told us that Your sheep would know Your voice. Father, when we pray today, can You quiet our souls and let us hear from You?

In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? " - Matthew 9:5

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Sometimes, it is easy for us to feel sympathy about others and said something inappropriate or regardless of the other person's feelings. Father, remind us always to speak positively and be careful of what we said. For we could enable someone to feel more sorry for themselves and make them feel even more 'hopeless'.

Father, teach us how to love by springing into action. Father, teach us how to be compassionate like Jesus.

Father, let us show "rough love" to people, like Jesus, by accepting them.
Father, let us show "rough love" to people, like Jesus, by motivating them to solve their own problems.
Father, let us show "rough love" to people, like Jesus, by confronting them to fight against their own problems.

Father, help us to bare a loving heart in us. Help us to love each other as You have commanded. As Mother Teresa said "A joyful heart is inevitable result of a heart burning with love." Father, we love, because You love us first.

In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.
