Today’s Verse:
"Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." Matthew 16:24

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Who would actually willingly says "Yes" to this question? Father, taking up the cross is no easy matter, shouldn't something as big as this be done by people who are preacher or pastor that kind of role? If someone come to us and said to us "You would be excellent at - taking up the cross and follow Jesus"? Wow, perhaps, we will immediately denial You, Lord, as this could be too chealleging and possibly an impossible dream to us! Yes, it seems to be something far beyond our reach.

Father, with faith, nothing is impossible because it enables us to say yes to God even when we want to say no.

Father, for a true disciple of Christ needs to be able to follow Jesus' footsteps and he/she shall work for the honour and glory of God.

Father, we cannot even start to imagine how we can walk the same way as Christ has walked. Father, for sure we can never be Christlike, to be as righteous, as caring, as loving, as obedient or as worthy as Him?! But Father, help us to make up our mind, to be a Christian today. We don't have to teach the bible, we don't have to preach the gospel, we don't have to bible bashers or passionate in Jesus. Father, all we need is a helping heart. Father, if someone come to us and ask for the direction, grant us patience, to direct him/her. Father, if someone come to us and ask for help, grant us wisdom to offer help, as far as possible. Father, if someone come to us and request for a attentive ear, grant us love to listen to them.

Father, we don't need to be courageous to follow Jesus, we don't need to be outstanding to follow Jesus,..., Father, we only need to have some boldness to pick up our cross today and follow Him!

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does." - James 1:8

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

A double minded man is a person with two souls, which makes him wavering. This kind of person has no settled principles, controlled by passion and influenced by popular feeling. i.e. His mind keeps switching from one idea to another. This is definitely not a person who will stand by his faith in Christ.

Father, Christianity teaches us to be joyful in all circumstances, so that we can stand through trials by Your grace, so that we can take hold of Your promises with firmness, so that we can feel assured our prayers will be heard without doubt, so that we can walk in Your will with confidence, so that ...

Father, help us to go through everyday, with pleasure and happiness. Father, if we ever feel discouraged or that You wouldn't help us because of our own weakness or folly, remind us of the countless blessings we have received, remind us that Jesus Christ died for us to redeem us from our sins and remind us that You are our Father of second chances who is merciful and most gracious. Matthew 7:9-11 says "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"

Rejoice always in the Lord, ask Him, seek for Him and knock on His door, dream beyond your imagination. And as your dream move one step closer in the will of God, you are also one step closer to where He wants you to be.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." 2 Corinthians 3:17

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Remember there was a credit card advertisement, starring Richard Gere who set free some huge volumes of birds, for the recovery hope of a little girl's brother? What a scene? How great will it be if all of us were also set free from our troubles, worries, sickness, problems, trials and all everyday life issues through the grace of You, Lord?!

In contrast, some birds were too reluctant to their lives, that even when they were set free, they remained in their cages. Though the owner tried to shoo them into the air, they just landed a few yards away and looked for opportunities to head back into their cages. We may think "Stupid birds! They seemed to be free, yet their souls are being imprisoned."

Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." (John 8:34-36 NIV). How many people are still in their "invisible prison of sin"? They sinned but the guilt trapped them from within, even after they confested, repented, redeemed by You, Lord, they still tossed and turned in the night, they still couldn't sleep, they still couldn't turn away from their thought away from the "what if...what if..."

Father, Jesus came and has set us free from all our sins, help us to be strong to accept His gift and allow us to enjoy our true freedom in His mercy. Father, our lives are being redeemed by the blood of Christ, may we spend the remaining of our lives walking in Your will.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. " Matthew 6:7-8

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

There was an Energizer advertisment many years ago which a bunny would come across the screen with his bass drum and the narrator would interrupt to tell us that the Energizer can keep going and going and going. Is our praying life any similar to these bunnies? We continue to pray everyday because we want to keep our relationship with You anewed, Lord.

Heavenly Father, You will listen to all sincere prayers. You are like a caring father who know every single detail about us, but You feel more pleased, when we come to You in prayers to tell You our "daily journey and secrets". Father, in Your perfect timing, You will grant us what's best. Father, let us stay in confidence as King David, who says in Psalm 23 "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

Father, may we will continue to express and acknowledge our feelings, our hurts, our anger, our resentment, our relationship difficulties, our ups and downs etc. through prayers. Father, may we continue to trust You to uplift our burdens and worries, as always.

Father, Thankyou for your love and caring. Thankyou for Your grace and blessings.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts." - 2 Corinthians 3:3

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

There is this book called "Healing Conversations: What to say when you don't know what to say" by Nance Guilmartin. The 1st passage is about a polite little greeting that we say everyday "How are you?". The author wrote "you may not realise that this innocent-soundind greeting can stress for people who are going through difficult times...we need to consider if we're really willing to hear whatever the answer might be."

Lord, in times of distress, how much we yearn for a listener? Lord, it is not easy to "hope in faith", it surely isn't easy for everyone of us to do that 24 * 7. But Father, in our weakest moments, bring us light, grant us mercy, assure us with confidence and remind us to count our blessings. Matthew 6:26 says "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Father, allow us to let go and let You help us to bare our burdens.

Father, it is not easy to admit to our failures in our lives, it is even harder for us to talk to people about our problems and worries. But Father, it is written "Carry each other's burdens" (Galatians 6:2), so we rely on You, to bring us angels to accept us, to listen to us and to bare the load with us and to give us the care we need. Likewise, let us be willing to offer our helping hands to our brothers and sisters in Christ when needed.

Heal us Lord, so that one day, we will be able to spread the gospel of God with our own experience, as a living testimony.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing." - Romans 7:18-19

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

We are sinners, we do have sinful nature. How many times parents have told their kids to stay away from evil, but how many times did they really listen? None. It is written "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. ...So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me." (Romans 7:15&21)

It is a battle that goes on forever! Why do You have to put us on all these trials and tests?

Father, of course we understand that the purpose behind the tests, is to prove that even when the heat's on, we'll still choose to do Your will! Moreover, we'll only know that we are stronger than we thought we were through trials.

Remembered the test that Abraham went through, when he had to take his son Isaac up to Mount Moriah and sacrifice him to You. Lord? Can there be a bigger trial than this? But he submit to You, Father. He was prepared to give him to You, as Job said "The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away"

Father, for us there's a constant struggle between doing good or evil, listening to the Lord or the flesh. Father, You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, as it is written "I will refine them like silver and test them like gold.", it is only through trials that we may grow, that we may prosper. Father, help us to go through these trials with perseverance.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out." - Proverbs 18:15

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

One idea is enough to make someone rich... There was a man who saw the "paper clip" in Canada and brought the product back and sale it in to Hong Kong and got rich. There was a man who promoted "toothpick" by asking for it in several restaurants and got rich. There was a man who tried to increase his sales revenue on rice cooker by running around households with cooked preserved sausages rice.

One idea is quite enough to change everything.

Father, You have plans for us far greater! It is written "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19). So according to the scripture, our lives are being empowered by You Lord, and financed by Bank of Heaven!

Remember Abraham? Who "By faith ..., when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going." (Hebrews 11:8) and "even though he was past age—and Sarah herself was barren—was enabled to become a father because He considered him faithful who had made the promise." (Hebrews 11:11)

So what is the key to success? Pray about everything and lean on Him. Don't wait till all our own ideas or resolutions failed. What have you got to loose? Let us pray by faith and wait for Him to ACTION.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters." - Genesis 2:10

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being our ever helper and redeemer. You love us unconditionally and never ask us anything in return. Lord, You are gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

Father, though it is written "Do not anxious about anything" (Phil 4:6), we worry about this or that one time or another. Though it is written "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7), we tend to try to explore our own resolution all the time. Though it is written "we wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield" (Psalm 33:20), we get easily disappointed while waiting for our rescue in God's perfect timing.

Father, Your vision is far greater and wider than we can ever image. Like the river watering from the garden of Eden, You fully understand that we will get worried and upset in matters, so You graciously separated it into four headwaters. Why? So that we don't have to worry about the waters being dried up or blocked or destroyed. Father, Thank you for Your reserves, Your provisions.

Father, You had placed dreams, gifts, talents, and destiny deep within us, of course You would like us to flourish in our expertise. But Father, You are the God of second chances, we may not have grown in the areas which we are made to be, but then, because of Your various "streams of revenue", eventually we prosper.

We may just be realising some of our hidden gifts in our lives. Fatheer, let us embrace them, develop them, pray over them, surrender them to You! We will watch and wait to see how You would passionately make them blossom! Lord, show us the provision You have in us and that we may use these talents to be a blessing to others.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.”- Romans 15:7

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Mid-moon festival is an occasion for us to spend quality time with our families, friends and love ones. There may be people who are lonely or facing issues or rejections in their lives. Let's take this opportunity to pray for healing and hope in God's words.

Exodus 15:26
He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you."

2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Jeremiah 17:14
Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed;
save me and I will be saved,
for you are the one I praise.

Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Revelation 22:2
down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Romans 5:4
perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Isaiah 40:31
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

2 Corinthians 1:10
He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." - John 6:35

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Faith is an essential part of believer's life. We must constantly exercise our faith in You Lord, as part of our obedience to You, which is as important as sinners seek for salvation.

The bread and water mentioned in this verse symbolised our spiritual needs. For those who come to the Lord Jesus Christ, our Father in heaven, You, will give not only the food from heaven to support their natural lives but also the true Bread for the salvation of our souls.

Father, the most cruicial part of faith is to trust You with all our hearts and soul. Father, it is written that "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?" Father, we cast all our worries and problems on to You, Lord, we truely believe that You are our only helper, healer and redeemer in our lives.

Father, it is only our weakness that we allowed ourselves to rest upon Your strength. Father, increase our faith in You. Father, allow us to grow our faith by reading and meditating upon Your Words.

Father, so often we doubted You, asking "Have I faith in God? Have I real faith? If I have I should rest in perfect peace..." or "Do I really pray to God so that He hears me and answers my prayers? And get the things I ask Him for?", Father, we can accomplish nothing unless we truely believe and trust You. "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

God, we belive You, we belive Your existence, we believe that You are good and gracious, we believe that You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek Your face. So Father, lead us and guide us in every step of our lives and never ever leave us or forsake us.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." Psalm 124:8

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

You are the author of all our deliverances. May all the peace and glory be with You! Father, everyday, devil will lay snares for us, trying to get us sin or into trouble so that it may trick and trap us there, disconnecting from You. Sadly, sometimes, we are just far too weak and we let them prevail.

Father, You are our foundation of confidence, You are our fountain of strength, You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, if we don't trust You, whom shall we trust? “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe”. Father, we believe that You will watch over us, of course we will also trust that You will render us help in moments of jeopardy!

Where does our help come from? Our help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earch. Let us rejoice for the help which will come to us in Your timing, Lord.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"The bows of the warriors are broken, but those who stumbled are armed with strength." - 1 Samuel 2:4

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

At the beginning of 1 Samuel, Hannah was married to Elkanah but couldn't bare children. Later, Father remembered her and she conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, "Because I asked the LORD for him." Then, she rejoiced and prayed to the Lord. (1 Samuel 1)

In her prayers she said "The bows of the warriors are broken, but those who stumbled are armed with strength.", with "bows" meaning the strength of which the warriors boasted and "stumbled" meaning the weak or feeble in body and spirit. Father, if we boost about what we have, You will weaken our power. Likewise, Father, You will strengthen the weak if they are obedient to You.

Father, if we were poor, we will be content, and make up our minds to our condition. Father, if we were rich, we will be thankful, and serve You cheerfully, and do good with the abundance You gives us.

Father, no matter what our circumstances are, allow us to serve You with a humble heart.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you." - Deuteronomy 3:22

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Moses begins to give a final word on the future leadership of the Israelites. (Deuteronomy 3:21) Then, he said “Do not fear them, for the LORD your God is the one fighting for you.” to encourage us to live by faith rather than in fear.

Father, prayer is indeed a request and it is essential for our everyday lives. Father, though sometimes the answer is yes, somtimes no or sometimes wait, the main focus is whether we can pray by faith. For everyone who understands that God's love will hear You.

Praying in faith means to know without a doubt that God is real, He is the Alpha the Omega, the beginning and the end.

Praying in faith means to acknowledge His love to us that He cares about us and He will listen to our prayers no matter what.

Praying in faith means to approach Him with respect and confident that He will help.

Praying in faith means to believe that prayer is powerful and effective.

Praying in faith means to communicate with Him and be open and honest with Him.

Pray always, for Father, You are listening 7*24, and You do care.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

You are our light, the believer's light. You are the strength of our lives, everyday second of our lives, in everything that we do. Father, we cannot even start to explain how graciously we feel about Your presence with us, Your power with us, Your promises with us and Your readiness to hear prayers from us.

Father, we are at the least alert status in the night and sometimes, we feel fear because of all sorts of "ideas" swelling in our minds: Incidents in the past, at work place, worries, pressure etc. Father, the LORD is my light and my salvation, of whom shall we fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall we be afraid? Father, as we lie down in our beds, help us to close our eyes and put our trust in You. Father, as we lie down in our beds, grant us peace in our minds. Father, as we lie down in our beds, allow us to relax our hearts and cast all our worries and problems into Your gracious hands.

May our needs for mental and physical restoration be fulfilled.

Father, let our minds be as simple as a child at night and say this wonderful prayer that Margaret Kennedy wrote:

"I love you, God,
with all my might.
Keep me safe
all through the night."

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." - John 8:12

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Jesus is the Light of the world and God is light. Jesus is the image of the invisible God. Because Jesus enlightens the whole world, it is no longer dark. We, believers who follow Jesus shall never walk in darkness and our ways will be directed by Him and we will be kept away from condemning sin.

Father, our hearts are like a house with lots of rooms, each room is like a room of thoughts, which contain problems, struggles, worries, attitudes or emotons etc. Father, today, allow Jesus to shine through each and every room in our hearts, heal us altogether. Father, if we were not ready for Jesus to cleanse through every area in our hearts so quickly, if we were still deeply hurt in certain areas, grant us the strength to allow Jesus to work through aspects of our lives one by one. Father, when Jesus knocks on one of our doors, give us the courage to answer Him, to allow Him in and to clean, change and mold us. Lord, for we indeed have the power to make changes in our lives, we don't need to stay unhappy, depress or weak.

Lord, grant us strength to change and the ability to do what You have assigned in our lives.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"The bolts of your gates will be iron and bronze, and your strength will equal your days. " - Deuteronomy 33:25

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

It is written "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matt 6:34) Teach us how not to worry about anything Lord, for worry doesn't rid tomorrow's sorrows, but it robs away our today's happiness. Father, if we kept on worrying, then it will probably take us 40 years to make that trip to the promiseland like the israelians.

For true believers, though our ways could be rough, we shall stand firm on the rock of You, Lord, as our foundation of everything. Father, as it is written "your strength will equal your days". (Note: The day is often referred as "the events within the day")

Father, You are our constant support and You will definitely help us in all and everything in the most graciously way. So Father, why should we be feared by the trials and troubles infront of us?

Father, we can work for what You have appointed us to do? You will give us the strength and courage to accomplish them. Therefore, we should never be tempted to quit, for with Your strength Lord, everything is possible and we are made to do things above that we are able. Father, faithful is that You have promised.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." - Colossians 3:1-2

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Thankyou for teaching us once again to turn away from our "fleshly mind" or "satiating to the full the flesh". This is in sync with Romans 6:4, which we said at our baptism ceremony "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

Father, after baptism, our old lives are dead, which means that we are away from all sins such as inproper behaviours, bad temper, irritability, meanness, impurity, lust and "doing whatever we feel like whenever we feel like it", etc. We shoulld take up the life shaped by You, Lord.

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Col 3:12-14

Father, help us to put Your commands in practice.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." - Psalm 16:2

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

There is an idiom which says "There's no rose without a thorn." meaning "to enjoy any beautiful or pleasant thing, you must endure something difficult or painful." Father, is this really true? If we want to enjoy Your goodness, do we all need to enough perseverance and endurance within us?

Father, if we hold on to earthly values, we will be like someone who has a pain or condition that doesn't go away. Father, our hope is in You, we should never say "OK. I accept fate." or "I'll give in to what life is giving me." Father, the cure is probably to hold on to You, just like David, who always flee to Your protection, with cheerful and believing confidence. Father, You are the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, we trust that You have our needs in mind and You will only provide us with the best. Father, let us take comfort in Your promises and live our everyday lives with courage and assurance.

Father, as it is written in Isaiah 40:31 "but those who hope in the LORD, will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Although, we have no good thing other than in You, we will be strong and take heart, and have faith in You, O Lord.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" - Matthew 16:26

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Time is valuable. For this reason, many people use their lives, trying to accomplish as much as possible, either at work or in personal. They always rush through things and they always fight for the best... It is always good to setup quality standards for our lives but, do we have to go to the extremes?

There is a book called "What to Do Between Birth and Death". Charles Spezzano explained how we have actually paid for things in terms of time, not money. Think about it, if we want a car, we may spend years in working and saving up for it, so it is really "our time" that we used to pay off the car, the gadget or the flat we wanted. Father, Help us to see what is worth spending our lives on each day and help us to manage our time wisely. Surely, we all need a balanced life between work and fun.

Scott Peck said, "Until you value yourself, you won't value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it." Father, we may feel lost in life, sometimes, we don't even know how to value our time and just let it slipped through our fingers. Father, we are all precious to You, teach and lead us to use our time in a sensible way, let us treasure our everyday as You treasure us, love us, cherish us and care about us.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."" - Matthew 19:26

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. ... For when I am weak, then I am strong." (Mark 4). Father, once again You have described Your Almighty powers to us by emphasising our weaknesses. Father, if You wish, You can reduce a camel to such a size that it may be able to pass through the eye of a needle. Father, by Your grace You can also work upon a rich man's heart, You can take off his affections from his worldly substance. How much more can You work on us?

Father, You are able to do anything which exceeds all created powers and there is nothing too hard for You. As it is written in Genesis 18:14, "Is anything too hard for the LORD?", and Sarah was given a son, Issac; in Numbers 11:23, "Is the LORD's arm too short? You will now see whether or not what I say will come true for you.", and God sent manna to feed six hundred thousand men.

Father, Your grace is sufficient for us, for Your power is made perfect in our weakness.
(2 Corinthians 12:9), we long to maintain good relationships with You, so
"I will sing of your strength,
in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble.

O my Strength, I sing praise to you;
you, O God, are my fortress, my loving God."
(Psalm 59:16-17)

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. " Isaiah 50:4

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Thankyou for teaching us the qualities of disciples.
1/ Praying - Not only they will talk to God, they will also take time to listen (Isaish 50:4)
2/ Bible reading - They will yearn for the nourish of God's words (Ezra 7:10), prepare their hearts and have a willingness to obey
3/ Witnessing. - They will share their testimony in Christ (Isaiah 43:10). They are willing to describe how God make changes in their lives
4/ Tithing - They will honour the Lord with their wealth, with the first-fruits of all their crops (Proverbs 3:9-10).

Father, Thankyou for discipling us, although, we may not be as obedient as we should be, but, we are always so grateful for Your kindness in placing all these fervent disciples and servants around us. How we longed for someone to minister us with the word of God when we feel frustrated or weary!

Father, we believe that when they put You in the first place in our lives, Your blessings will indeed overflow into every area of our lives. As Aesop said "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.", let us start small by sowing these seeds of kindness around us.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me(Jesus)." - John 14:1

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Father, upon the word troubled, Jesus is telling his disciples not to be downcast by the troubles they encountered but to put their trust in You. Thankyou Father, for giving us Jesus as the bridge of communication, because without Jesus, we could have never reached You.

Thankyou for drawing this beautiful picture. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Through Him, we can pray to You, Lord, and we can tell You everything, including our troubles, worries, joy, ambition, hope, needs, ..., everything really. In return, God will send us blessings, grace, mercy, love, kindness and healing... basically everything we have ever hoped for but in abundance!

Father, we love You. Everyday, we face troubles and worries that we may never fix in our own power and strength. We may be sick, we may be hurt, we may be longing for love relationship, we may be praying for friendship, we may have problems at work, we may have different opinions with our colleagues, we may be aggressive because our love ones are suffering... Father, we are so weak, we can never fix or comprehend these circumstances on our own. Father God, please hear our cry, please bring healing to each and everyone of us in all areas.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion. " - 2 Corinthians 9:11

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Thankyou for explaining to us the principle of giving so clearly, "man reaps what he sows" Galatians 6:7 or "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38 - meaning? "we get as good as we give."

But giving is a matter of "the heart" as well, we should always decide how to give, whether we want to donate money, goods or time, and how much. It is never a good idea to donate "as you were told" or to do it "because others were looking". Father, we know that You love us and You respect us so much more than we love and respect You, so Father, we know that You will never force us to do anything outside our comfort zone. Thankyou.

Father, each day, let us decide how much seeds we need to sow in terms of giving, preparing, serving and loving. Lord, as You supply all the seeds (2 Corinthians 9:10). Help us to be a happy sower with the willingness to give in all ways and every way, so that we "will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion. " Rich in every areas of our lives including relationships, wisdom, health and finances.

As Bernard Meltzer said “Blessed are those who give without remembering. And blessed are those who take without forgetting.”
Father, may we practice loving one other, each and everyday of our lives.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men" - Colossians 3:23

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

In 1914, Brother Lawrence was born in the name of Nicolas Herman in Hériménil, near Lunéville in the region of Lorraine, located in modern day eastern France. Having felt he had received a revelation of the providence and power of God at the age of 18, within six years he joined the Discalced Carmelite Priory in Paris.

He was assigned to the monastery kitchen where, amidst the tedious chores of cooking and cleaning at the constant bidding of his superiors, he developed his rule of spirituality and work. He writes, "Men invent means and methods of coming at God's love, they learn rules and set up devices to remind them of that love, and it seems like a world of trouble to bring oneself into the consciousness of God's presence. Yet it might be so simple. Is it not quicker and easier just to do our common business wholly for the love of him?"

For Brother Lawrence, "common business," no matter how mundane or routine, could be a medium of God's love. Talk about adding dignity to your job!

So, what essense in your job that you hate most currently? Gardening? Laundry? Filing? Secretarial work? Throwing out garbage? Cooking? Cleaning toilet? Document Delivery? Looking after kids? "Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord." (Colossians 3:22) Father, help us to be obedient at work, as we are obedient to you, although, there are lots of job responsibilities we dislike, but Father, we respect You, we respect the job You have assigned for us to do, whether at the job fields as an employee or whether at home, as husband, wife, son, daughter, parent, brother, sister or at church etc. Lord, may You grant us wisdom and patience to do well in all our identities in life.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
Jesus replied, "Friend, do what you came for." - Matthew 26:50

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Help us to understand Jesus. When Judas came up to Him, kissed and betrayed Him, what was in His mind? He entrusted Judas with the finances and yet he gave Jesus away. Father, do our lives need certain negative relationships? Indeed Father, perhaps we cannot learn perseverance without going through problems, forgiveness or betrayal.

Then again, someone called George Burns had a positive and strong friendly relationship with Jack Benny for 55 years. They laughed together, played together, worked together and ate together. Wow, Father, don't we crave for having such a kind of friend?

It is written in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!"

Father God, friendships come and go, we are impacted by both positive and negative relationships from day to day. Father, we do enjoy to share our deepest feelings with friends, enjoy to have support from friends in times of distress and enjoy to have someone to give positive advises in times of need. Father God, we also need to learn and grow eveyday to respect, love and cherish our friendships, so Father, help us, help us indeed by giving us a humble heart, so that we may talk to our friends with gentleness; help us by giving us a pure heart, so that we may understand our friends' feelings better and to share their burden; and most importantly, help us by giving us a faithful heart, so that we may walk along with our friends through the gospel.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy." - Matthew 8:2-3

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

All the healing that's listed in the bible are almost the same, all required faith and trust in You, as well as the most important essence - the willingness of acceptance.

Father, how easy for us to say that we trust You with all our heart, mind and soul? Father, forgive us for being weak, for doubting Your powers, for questioning about Your love to us. We really don't know what this day will bring, what tomorrow will hold, whether black clouds will bring rain, whether wind will turn into storm, whether sunshine will ever come back or whether the sun will really rise after a pure darkness night. Father, but we only know that if we put our faith and trust in You, You will bring us hope in the future and no matter what our current situation is like, You will bring us to where You have planned for us.

Father, we believe in miracles.
Father, for the people who are in disappointment, please bring them satisfaction.
Father, for the people who are in pain, please bring them comfort, and ease them from distress.
Father, for the people who are in sad, please enlight their way and bring them joy and peace.
Father, for the people who are in a situation, please bring them solution and resolution.
Father, most importantly, help us to put down our pride, to accept Your blessings, Your favours, Your care, Your love and You grace that You are so willingly to give to us.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand" - Jeremiah 18:6

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Pottery is the objects ware made by potters, using vessels or potter's wheel. Major types of pottery include earthenware, stoneware and porcelain. The word "potter" or "pottery" has been mentioned 8 times in the book of Jeremiah. Why is it so important that we learn about this concept?

If we look at the process, we would know how tedious the procedures are...
Father, Thankyou for teaching us to respect Your authority over us and to receive the blessed will of Yours in us with joy and enthusiasm. Even though we are on the potter's wheel and everything in life seems to be spinning around with no end, but it is not true. Father, You are the potter and You are in control, so "by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect."

Father, You never said that sailing in Your will is smooth? So Father, help us to deal with delays, discouragement and setbacks in life, for we count on You so heavily. In the same way, help us to treasure Your blessings when opportunities do come along our way.

Help us to never doubt in asking "Does God love me? Has He really called me? Am I in His will?" For all we need to know is that He's on board the boat with us and He has promised to bless, guide us and protect us through every single rain, storm, disaster in our lives.

Father God, we love You and we know that You love us too. Bless us at all times, no matter good or bad.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." - James 4:14

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

There is this christian song "Who am I" that talks about us as the children of God. There are phrases like "Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star, Would choose to light the way, For my ever wandering heart". Father, we would say that it is by the Your favour that the bright morning star would light our way, it is by Your grace that our sins are being forgiven, it is by Your love that we are sheltered and protected from the wind and storm and hardships along our way.

Everyone has a life. Our average life span is between 75-80 years of age. It is written that our lives are like a mist, is here one minute and gone already in another! Father, what do you want to tell us actually? That life is short, so we should have all the fun that we can?

Father, because life is short, therefore we should not spend time waiting, but spring into action on things, since we don't have forever. So if we want to learn to play the piano or guitar, then perhaps we should stop talking about it and start taking lessons! Or that we want to visit the Holy Land, then perhaps we should call a travel agent. Or that we want to feel better, then perhaps we should start exercising or jogging!

Father, we want to love you, to know Your words, so Father, help us to make an effort, to read a verse or two everyday. Help us not to say "Next time, next time." all the time. Don't wait and take action now!

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
Prayer for Today :
"He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. " - Isaiah 53:2

Heavenly Father,

Thankyou for the description of Jesus in the Old Testament. Yes, indeed! He grew up nothing like a King, but just like as a tender shoot plant, silently and humbly. He had no qualities in him which attracted us to worship him instantly when we meet with him.

Father, as Isaiah has pointed out that Jesus sprang up "like a root out of dry ground", meaning He is strong and He can preservere through tough circumstances! Thankyou Father, for giving us Jesus as our example. Father, we should indeed be like Him who spend much time in prayers and maintain high self esteem to encourag and empower others.

Tough times never last but tough people do. Heavenly Father, we can never develop strong characteristics without trials, but we cannot go through circumstances without Your gace and blessing? "For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance." (Matthew 25:29). Job lost everything, but at the end, Father rewarded him with double of his lost.

“However many blessings we expect from God, His infinite liberality will always exceed all our wishes and our thoughts” (John Calvin)

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today’s Verse:
"And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."
James 5:15-16

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

You know us when we were still in our mother's womb. Surely, You also know about our happiness, our sadness, our distress and our every other single detail.

Father, like Jonah in the fish (*Note), now we cry to you in our distress and we are looking for Your prompt reply. Everyday we face so many different kinds of problems: relationship, sickness, pain, hurt, discomfort, grief etc. Father, we felt like we have been banished from your sight, we felt that the engulfing waters were threatening us, the deep sea were surrounding us and the seaweed was wrapped around our heads. Father, we could see no way out, help us, save us!

Father, Thankyou for giving us Jesus, to come to the world, to heal the sick and to forgive the sinned. Father, may all who are suffering, who are in pain, who are ill or sick, who have sinned, be able to uplift these problems and troubles onto You. Father, we need Your miracles, we need Your love, we need Your healing, we need Your relieve to our pain and suffering. Lord, have mercy on us. Lord, bless us abundantly today!

Lord, restore our health, renew our relationships, resolve our problems... so that we may glorify and praise You more, in honour to Your deeds and that many may know Your mercyfulness through us.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
