Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Just how many of us realised that You love us? The scripture said in Isaiah, Chapter 43:4 "You are precious and honoured in My sight... I love you."
Father, we are commanded to love one another as we love ourselves. Father, we believe that as we show love to one another, You will love us more and more. God, You are love, and the more we express our caring to each other like You, the more loving we'll become. Not only that, as we follow Your commands, You promised that in return, You will love us, bless us and being gracious to us, greater than we could ever have imagined; it's that simple.
Wow!
There were times we became unloving while trying to climb up the career ladder. There were times we became harsh to people who were not "very nice" to us. But if we only we could bare in mind the words of our Father, to "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:44-45), we will be blessed so much more in return.
Father, let me remind myself to say "I'm loved by God." every morning when we wake up and every night before we go to sleep.
Father, let us write down Your words on cards which we can carry them with us; so that we may discipline ourselves and control our tongue, soul, body and mind, everytime, when we're tempted to feel despair, to sin or to dishonour You by lashing out our anger and hurt someone.
In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
Inspired by the prayer from "Hour of Power": Lord, Today I pray for people around the world. I forget my own needs and focus on the needs of others. Lord, bring to my attention faces and voices, minds and lives from lands near and far. What a mixture of human personalities You have created. Send Your Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, over the nations, crossing all borders and barriers. For this I pray. Amen.

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
This verse, like many other verses in Psalms, is about David, who has sinned again, poured out his soul to You Lord in prayer, seeking humbly for Your mighty mercy and grace.
Father, if we are truly sorry and make repentance on our sins, we will never be ashamed. But for David, he just enjoyed to dwell in this cycle of "sin, repent and cry out for mercy", and hence, seemed to be begging for Your pardon of sins and reconcilation ever so often. Still, everytime in his repentance, David feels encouraged, he feels hope that God would graciously accept him once again.
Father, don't we all dwell in some sort of sin cycles, just like David? Father, through the blood of Christ that sprinkled upon our conscience, it washed away all our iniquity and every stain has been cleansed. Father, help us to grow wisdom to resist commiting sins repeatedly, help us to cry out for God's Almighty blessings, help us to believe that our sins are forgiven through Jesus and if anyone is in Christ, he/she is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Today's verse is about how to hush the spirit, to be silent before the Lord, to wait in His holy patience during the time of turmoil, until all the clearing of the difficulties completed by our Heavenly Father's providence. Father, help us to walk through all the stages of our emotions, step by step, accomplish this through our gracious hearts?
Father, everyday, we are facing attacks of all sorts, but through preserverance, may we believe that You are well worth waiting for. Father, You are our loving Father, though You will never deliever Your blessings to us before Your precise timing, but we must realised that You are never late.
Father, we rejoice in Your love and caring, we also also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. (Romans 5:3-5)
Father, we have learnt very valuable lessons over the years. Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Is life make up of hard walks? There was Abraham who walked with Issac up the mountain Moriah, Moses who walked with the Israelites out of Eygpt through the red sea and there was Peter, walked on the water towards Jesus. These are all meaningfuls stories. For the first 2 stories, by faith, they obeyed, walked and made progress in their lives.
Peter's story was quite depressing because by faith, he stepped out of the boat and by faith, he walked several steps on the water, but when he saw the wind, he was scared by it and he began to sink.
Father, great teaching from Jesus who taught us to focus on Him but not on the circumstances. Indeed Father, when we are faced with situations, we are just like Peter. To get out of them, we do need to take the courage to get out of our "comfort zone" (the boat) and we do need to take more than one step before we can get anything resolved. And so often, we feel there is absolutely nothing that we can do except to put our trust in You. Then, sooner than we know, we would probably question ourselves and we would probabaly start doubting, and we would start to sink...
Father, nobody walks without fluctuation, satan always attack us with the 'what-ifs'. "What if we get too far from the boat and we can't make it to shore?", "What if the money doesn't come through?", "Or the cancer comes back?"... Father, help us to trust You more each day, through our personal walk with You, and through our experience, may we build our faith in You gradually.
Father, one day, may we have enough faith to proudly declare that "We believe that we are walking in the provision of God". Father, You give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. Father, we are those who hope in the LORD, may we renew our strength, may we soar on wings like eagles, may we run and not grow weary, may we walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31).
Thankyou Father, for giving us Jesus Christ our Lord, as our assurance, for if we feel like we are sinking today, we can always cry out for Him and He'll reach out His hand to catch us immediately!

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
The greek word "ταπεινοφροσυνη" is used at several places in the bible (Ephesians 4:2; Acts 20:19; Philippians 2:3; Colossians 2:23; Colossians 3:12; 1 Peter 5:5). The word means "modesty, humility, lowliness of mind". In this letter, Paul urges us to live a life worthy which is "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
Father, by lowliness, understand humility, which means that we should put down our pride and by meekness, which means that we should walk humbly before God and man, we should walk according to the will of God.
Father, "Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth, you will again bring me up. (Psalm 71:20) In return, we should help the brothers and sisters around us.

Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on. - Mark 12:43-44
Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Thankyou for this teaching on the Widow's Offering. Jesus showed his compassion to the widow. He didn't condemn the widow for giving. Jesus also told us that God, our Father's concern was not on the face amount of tithing, but the motive, attitude, and financial condition of the givers.
There was once a fund raising execise in New York. It wasn't a success until a poor woman sold her bed for US$13.00 and contributed the money. Similarly, there was a movie called "A letter to God", describing how a young boy fought against cancer as well as having firm faith on God by writing Him letters daily.
God, You are great. You always show us these short stories which inspire us, encourage us to hold on to our everyday lives. Miracles don't need to be huge, as long as we understand the meaning underneath.
"How many are your works, O LORD!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
There is the sea, vast and spacious,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.
These all look to you
to give them their food at the proper time.
May the glory of the LORD endure forever;

Today’s Verse:
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?" Psalm 22:1
Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Does this verse sound familar to You? Some of us have been shouting about this "forsaken" sentence to You for years! This is surely our sorrowful complaints to You, when we cannot feel Your presence in our lives.
The most honourable person amongst us who shouted this sentence to You is our beloved Jesus. Being truly man, Jesus felt a natural unwillingness to pass through such great sorrows, yet he had to go through all these, to fulfill the prophecy.
Father, we have too much on our plates that we can complain about - "Why am I sick?", "Why am I poor?", "Why am I suffering?"... These are just some savours of discontent and worldliness. Father, we know that You allowed the situations to bring out something in the lives, to change and to transform us into a better person.
Father, hear us as we cried out in confusion. Although we know that You are doing us good for presenting us with all these situations and consequences, we are only human. Help us to step forward with faith, as we hold on to Your love and grace. Father, tough times never last, but tough people do, train us to be deighted in Your eyes.

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
"Judge not?" We always talk about this and that person around us, which has certain of level of judgement involved. Does that mean we should not TALK about anything at all?
Father, Jesus teaches us that we must judge ourselves, and judge our own acts. We should take Jesus as an example and we should not judge our brothers or sisters. Father, do You know that this is hard, very hard to say than do?!
There are some bible verses which we may study to understand more about Jesus:
- James 3:1-2 Taming the tongue, we are not teachers
- James 4:11 Do not slander
- Romans 14:10 Only God will sit on the judgement seat
Father, sometimes we complain, sometimes we criticise, sometimes we judge rashly, sometimes we talk about our brothers and sisters with no ground, or out of our own jealousy and ill nature. Father, we must not make the worst of people, nor say things to others that they cannot not bear.
Father, we must not judge the hearts of others, nor their intentions. Father, change us, mold us, help us to see Jesus as our righteous example. Father, teach us to meditate on your words everyday, as our devotion to You daily.

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
E. (Eli) Stanley Jones (1884–1973) was a 20th century Methodist Christian missionary and theologian. He is remembered chiefly for his interreligious lectures to the educated classes in India, thousands of which were held across the Indian subcontinent during the first decades of the 20th century. He is also the founder of the Christian Ashram movement. He is sometimes considered the "Billy Graham of India".
Father, He began "ashrams", spiritual growth and development program, by asking people to write "What is your need today? Be honest. No one will see what you've written."
Father, sometimes, we are scared, alarmed, disturbed, troubled or worried when people asked us what we need. We are afraid that people may reject us or make us feel embarrassed.
But Father, when we pray to you, help us to pray to You openly, since You know us so well, that we don't really need to hide anything from You, because You know them all! Father, help us not to fear hiding our lack, our need, or our poverty. Father, there is no shame for us to ask for assistance? Heavenly Father,
Paul J. Bucknell called the teachings in Philippians 4:1-9, the seven steps to find this peace “Stepping into God’s Peace”.
Philippians 4:1-2 Living in Harmony
Philippians 4:3 Helping Co-workers
Philippians 4:4 Rejoicing in the Lord always
Philippians 4:5 Living Graciously
Philippians 4:6 Entrusting our Worries to The Lord
Philippians 4:8 Focusing on the truth
Philippians 4:9 Practicing the Truth
He has also concluded that verse 1 to 6 can be added up to get "Peace of God shall guard your hearts". (Philippians 4:7)
Father, that is quite true, because if we live in harmony with each other, help out our co-workers/neighbours, rejoice in You always, live out Your grace by being righteous and unload all our burdens and worries onto Lord Jesus Christ because it is written, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Then, surely, it is not difficult for us to find comfort in our hearts.

He has also concluded that verse 1 to 6 can be added up to get "Peace of God shall guard your hearts". (Philippians 4:7)
Father, that is quite true, because if we live in harmony with each other, help out our co-workers/neighbours, rejoice in You always, live out Your grace by being righteous and unload all our burdens and worries onto Lord Jesus Christ because it is written, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Then, surely, it is not difficult for us to find comfort in our hearts.

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
There was this advertisment on the TV, telling people to buy travel insurance because "Nobody knows about the future in advance", especially something "out of expectation"! Sometimes, we would be asked to do something, for a friend, which is unimaginable, say, creative drawings on your face for photographic competition etc.
Father, on occasion, You are operating on us under the same principle! Every now and then, You throw all these trials at us, to test and to groom us! It is written, "Do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering." Father, You are the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings, we love You and we would love to grow in You, but "Are these tests really necessary?", "Do you have to throw us the trial now? It's not at the right timing" and "Do You have to test us in your weakest areas all the time?".
Father, we fully understand that the tests of life are designed to sharpen us mentally and strengthen us spiritually. Father, do not allow us to act like victims and make complain to You! Father, let us learn to persevere because perseverance develops character, character develops hope. (Romans 5:4)

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Thankyou for sending us angels to guard us in all our ways. Surely we all had very real experiences with guardian angels, though each of these events are in their own way unique, yet in some ways alike.
A little girl named Carol had a car accident at the age of thirteen. She had a very complicated operation and had to stay at the hospital for more than 1 year. Father, as we can imagined, during that time, she was lonely and painful, but You know what? Father, she prayed to Jesus everyday and she persevered. Here was an extraction of her testimony,"Although my mum and dad came to visit me everyday, they would leave. Although the doctors and nurses would be on duty, they would also leave after routine work. I was alone in an isolation room, dark and lonely, but I prayed 'Jesus, please be here with me and protect me'. Then I felt safe and peaceful and I fell asleep."
Father, we all have similar experience like Carol, perhaps we couldn't sleep for some reason, perhaps we feel anxious about something at work or we feel concern of some illnesses of love ones. Father, may Your hands be with us at all times, guide and lead us in all and everything that we do, now and forever. We are weak and fragile, we do need Your love, Your care and Your protection.

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
You promise that if we seek You diligently, we'll find You, no matter what our fleshly status was at the time, whether we were in joy, in sadness or in distress.
Father, in Psalm 70, King David expressed His urgency towards getting Your Almighty help. Not only He prayed to You in serenity. We could almost see Him kneeling on the floor, sobbing, begging and pleading, just by reading these lines.
Unlike the attitudes of believers described in Amos 5:16-27. At the time there was not enough food to eat, and they called the farmers to mourn with them. Thus, they suffer together and they mourn together. They became the "professional mourners".
Father, praying is like planting a seed of believe in our hearts and minds. If we prayed to You with faith that You would deliver us, we could be sure that Your deliverance would reach us, one day, in a way or another. Although, it may not in the form of our liking... But if we plant a mourning seed into our hearts and minds, then we'll surely be trapped, just like the israelites, who stayed in the wilderness for forty years...
Father, grant us the wisdom to pray to You repectfully and to wait for Your deliverance patiently.

Heavenly Father,
Some life issues do bring us pressure that we cannot cope with. Sometimes, good things yesterday turned sour today. Something could happen any minute and make us feel all stressed out.......
Father, You are our Almighty Father, we tend to think that we know what we want and we pray to You for what we want. Father, help us to be obedient, to follow Your plans, because what we want may bring disastrous, only You know the best for us. Father, help us to appreciate that we are under Your construction, fill us with the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Father, please continue to mold us and change us!
Relax! God is at work in our lives. "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." He will never give up on us! Let us learn how to rest in God's grace.

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Sometimes, we may be feeling very lost in life. We may not have anything to be proud of. We may have a great career, but no concrete relationships. We may have a great career, a great marriage, but no kids. Then, again, we may have a great career, a great marriage, 2-3 kids but no ... There seems to be always a missing piece in our lives, don't you think?
What if we set some goals for our lives? Would this reduce the number of missing pieces in our lives? It would not, because most of us are so afraid of failing, hence, setting our goals way up high and unreachable or really low or no. "We do our best and God will do the rest." Therefore, we should set our goals so that Father, You may direct our steps.
Jesus said: "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?" (Luke 14:28). Father, grant us the discipline, courage and perseverance to do concrete goal settings and to act on them. Father, we trust that You will direct our paths and You will comfort us, heal us and protect us from enemy or devil attacks.
"Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it" (Habakkuk 2:2 KJV). Don't delay blessings.

"Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops." - James 5:17-18
Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Elijah was a distinguished prophet. His prayers were being heard by You, Father. It is written "Elijah was a man just like us.", hence, Father, You will also listen to our prayers, right?
But Father, will You answer our prayers, just like You have answered Elijah? In Elijah's case, through his earnestly prayers, Father, You listened and You answered to them, for You made the rain stopped and fell as wished. Surely, if You love us and care about our future, You'll too, answer our prayers in a shift second, right?!
Father, we should remember to what Jesus said when he was tempted in the desert by the devil. It said to Jesus "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Father, You will not answer the prayers according to the merit of man, but You will answer the prayers according to Your grace. It is not enough to say merely just one prayer, but we must say it with meaning, with compassion, with faith. Just like Elijah, this instance of the power in a prayer, really should encourage every Christian to be earnest in their prayers.
God, You says You will never leave us or forsake us. Although we may not see our miracles in You, answering our prayers today, yet we will not give up, but continue to pray our prayers fervantly, so that one day, we may see Your grace and mercy upon us.

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: "Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city." Acts 18:9-10

Heavenly Father,
Thankyou for teaching us more about Paul, the apostle, through these bible verses. At the time, Paul was much discouraged by the violent opposition of the Jews and he was having some serious thoughts of ceasing to preach or leaving Corinth. For that reason, the Lord spoke to Paul at night by a vision, commanding him not to be afraid and giving him assurnace that no one in the city could harm him.
Father, sometimes, when we were in distress, we don't need intercessors, pastors or any church ministers to be around us to say brillant prayers or perfect speeches. Father, perhaps, all we want is someone to pat on our heads or someone to say "Be not afraid".
Father, similarly, in 1 Corinthians 2:3, Paul also wrote "I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling." Then the Lord spoke to Paul, in his conscious feebleness, diffident of his own powers, and most frangible moment. Why? God listens, He cares.

"But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him." Jeremiah 18:4
Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Today's verse is about Jeremiah's interpretation on God's works. He looks upon the potter's work, explaining God has the authority to shape us in HIS hands, and the power to form us into whatever as He pleases. On the other hand, he explains that God is a "God of second chances", if we formed into a pot not as He pleases, for instance, if we're broken by our sins commited or shattered by the hammer of the devil or deceited by it, He'll shape us into another pot, which seemed best to Him.
Father, so often, we have in mind, our future, how it will be like in a year, 5 years or 10 years. For that we pray to You, according to our own will and thought. But as written in Isaiah 64:8, “Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” Father, only You know how to shape us into what is the best for us, in accordance to Your will. Father, as the clay in Your hands, let us have the willingless to accept Your shaping and molding.

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
You know how we feel when we lost something we treasured. The heart-broken feeling was really tough to manage. We would try to buy replacements, but there are certain things we just cannot replace. Things like: engagement/wedding rings or photoes of moments we treasure...
What about the love of the Father? We are sorry Lord, for being so insensitive, for being so ignorant and for being so rebellous sometimes. So often we pray to You, we ask for Your Almighty help and as soon as we thought we didn't receive Your goodness as expected, we would behave like a spoiled child, so obnoxious!
Have we ever imagine how hurt the Father would feel? The God who gave His only son to us, to wash away our sins. The God who knew us so well, that He even counted the number of hair on our heads. The God who spent countless hours listening to our prayers, our ups and downs in life and our fears, our joy, our doubts etc...
Whatever it is—it is nothing compared to the love of Christ. Can you imagine losing his love? Actually, maybe you think you can or have lost his love because of something you did or failed to do. Maybe you fear you lost his love because you didn't spend enough time praying or worshiping God. Or maybe you think you lost his love because you haven't gone to church lately.
As Richard Bach says “There's no disaster that can't become a blessing, and no blessing that can't become a disaster”. Father, You love us and You cherish us, there's no greater love than this. But so often, we didn't realise that You are using "disasters" to change us and mold us. Likewise, we didn't understand that You turned our blessings into disasters for the purpose of opening our eyes to SEE clearly some earthly matters. Father, whatever our circumstances are currently, don't quit loving us.

Father, You know how "the sick" are feeling today, their secret fears and their pains. We pray for Your healing to reach them to relieve from their anxiety. Lord, You reign by curing the sick, comforting and strengthening those who were sad, and granting new lives in Christ to all who accepted You as Saviour. Please continue carrying out Your great works in us and our love ones.
Guide those who do healing work with You: doctors, nurses, hospital workers etc. who extend Your love and care. We pray that Your team will be working fast and efficiently, as always, delivering treatment, cure, remedy and relieve to the world.
There are Distress/hardship/misery/sorrow -
Lord, heal our broken hearts, heal our broken souls, heal our weary bodies and wipe away our tears. When we felt like being tour apart, smooth our minds and calm our spirits. When we felt tired, grant us peace and give us rest. When we feel fear, send us grace and blessings. Father, in times of need, help us to cope with our situations and encourage us with hope.
Father, You love us to be tempered steel? If not, why are you testing us all the time? Father, encourage to rejoice in times of suffering! We didn't ask not for an easy road, but we didn't ask a hard one either, so Lord, allow us to make a difference by keeping a positive self esteem. Father! Make us as strong as tempered steel !

Heavenly Father,
There was a story called "Three Princes of Serendip" which is an English version of fairy tale based upon the life of Persian King Bahram V, who ruled the Sassanid Empire (420–440). The king has 3 sons and are highly educated. They are well known for being sensitive, looking into every small clue to deduce cleverly about their targets. The three princes have many other adventures, where they continue to display their sagacity, stories-within-stories are told and, of course, there is a happy ending.
Father, isn't you the same with us? You want us to learn, so? Along our lives, You lay down hints, trails, clues, ideas, notes, suggestions and tips. Father, Thank you for helping us to grow, to teach us how to think, to develop wisdom, to use our knowledge... Father, how can we ever Thank you enough for all these?
Father, everyday, there'll be new challenges waiting for us. And every time, we'll ask you "God, You are the most gracious God, show us Your mercy." Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for telling us this story about "faith". The verse for today is about the story of Peter, who took courage to step out of the boat to walk on the water towards Jesus but was distracted by the wind and the storm around him.
Father, don't we all need some boldness in our lives? Like Peter, he saw this figure walking on the water towards the boat and after he believed the figure was Jesus, he took courage to step out of the boat and started walking towards Jesus, his Saviour. In reality, not many of us could do just that. Not many of us are willing to step out of our comfort zone to serve Him. Not many of us are willing to talk about religion in public!
Father, sometimes we say we trust but like Peter, when we saw the wind, we will feel afraid and our "faith level" will also begin to drop... Surely, we will cry out, "Lord, save me!", "Lord, save me!", "Lord, save me!" repeatedly!
Father, faith is built on trust, trust is built on knowledge, built on past experience and therefore Father, discipline us, help us to remember to read Your words daily, help us to remember to count our blessings and help us to concentrate on Jesus, and forget about the wind, storm, water or sea outside.
Father, without faith it is impossible to please You, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6).

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
As Jesus was traveling around with His disciples, He didn't stop performing miracles, one of the remarkable ones is the healing of ten lepers.
As Jesus walked by, they called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!". Sounded familiar? Throughout the bible, people called out onto the Lord for help:
- As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, "Help me, my lord the king!" (2 Kings 6:26)
- "In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears." (Psalm 18:6)
- "In my anguish I cried to the LORD, and he answered by setting me free.(Psalm 118:5)
When Jesus saw them, he told them to go to show themselves to the priests. And as they went, they were cleansed. Sounded familiar? There are no free lunch in this world, if you want healing, You'll need to follow the instructions and "walk it out". Sometimes, we'll need to take repeated steps relentlessly until one day, we get to our miracles. (Same in 2 Kings 5, Naaman was sent to wash himeslf in Jordan River for seven times.)
Father, at the end, there's only one out of the ten who came back and praise You in a loud voice.
Father, when we were in distress, did we not yearn to get healed? Father, sometimes, we didn't "work out for our healing" as told. And on far too many occasions, we were just like these 9 lepers who forgot about Your mercy, Your grace and Your love after recovery. Were we too busy to praise You, Lord? Were we too self-absorbed?
As St. Teresa of Avila says “Each of us has a soul, but we forget to value it. We don’t remember that we are creatures made in the image of God.” Father, grant us wisdom to be smart enough to count our blessings each day.

Heavenly Father,
How can we know You better? By reading the Bible and meditating on Your words? By spreading the gospel? What is the best way, Father?
The verse today is extracted from John, it described the 1st miracle that Jesus did. The wine in the wedding had ran out, so Mary wanted Jesus to offer help. However, Jesus responded saying, "Mine hour is not yet come", He wanted to conduct His life as directed by God's plan. But Mary responded by telling the servants to whatever Jesus told them to do.
The person who obeys God really loves Him, like Jesus. Father, because we love You, we also want to live in Your will, just like Jesus. Father, overwhelm us with joy, blessings and grace which You have prepared for us. Father, place in our heart the desire to please You, to serve You and to love You. Father, fill our minds with thoughts of peace and good will.
What's the best way to know You, Father? By obeying Your commands.

"Who will rescue me from this body of death?" - Romans 7:24
Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Some of us stayed up until midnight to welcome the New Year, but most of us slept through it. Past is in the past, we must accept that some issues could never be resolved, and we would need to let "them" go, as we couldn't afford to let our past to ruin our future.
Father, it is hard for us to admit to our struggles, our limitations and our weaknesses. Father, Thank you for giving us the letters from apostle Paul who was honest enough to admit them. He says, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it." (Romans 7:15-20).
The verse today described the capital punishment. At that time, a murder victim's body would be tied directly onto the perpetrator's back. Therefore, at the end, the bacteria-filled corpse would infected the perpetrator and he would die of an agonising death.
In here, Paul was describing the weight he felt from his old nature pressing in, like this "body of death". Father, the past is in the past, we cannot afford to have "the bacteria-filled corpse" attached to us. Father, help us to be as truthful as Paul and admit our sins, so that we may embark on a new life ahead of us.

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
We face challenges everyday. We ask You for a dream to come true and then, we are faced with unexpected obstacles or situations. Father, if following You means banging our noses on to some brick walls, we will just do that! Father, what exactly do you want us to do, if we were given this BIG dream but don't want to get hurt? Maybe it's time to quiet ourselves in His presence and ask Him what He wants us to do.
Father, we should follow Your lead, no matter how silly it might sound, but we are quite logical sometimes and it wouldn't be easy to follow Your instruction when it felt like a blind horse leading our way, with our eyes closed.
Some of the most successful businesses in the world started with a silly idea. Think of some of the most successful people we know, say the founder of the Walt Disney or the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Have you ever think that cola was actually a medication drink in the 50s? How about Crystal Cathedral, which was built out of a snack-bar roof of a drive-in theatre?
Father, nothing is impossible through Your mighty hands, there may be setbacks, there may be challenges, there may be obstacles, but Father, just remind us that NOTHING is too big for You to help us resolve. Although the opportunities are not here today, doesn't mean that they are not on the way, doesn't mean that they are not going to happen tomorrow. Don't throw away tomorrow and don't throw away hope.

"When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD." - Exodus 34:29
Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Is it the human nature to have doubts? Father, don't we all like to question on things we are uncertain about, things we consider questionable or unlikely and then we would hesitate to believe?
Sometimes, we are tempted to say "If you are really God, then make this happen!" Father, when we feel weak and we want to demand for Your help, remind us of Jesus, who was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. He who said "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" What good it is to say that "we believe" but yet "not trust"?
The verse today came from the story of Moses, who came out of the mount, where he get intimate communion with God, without interruption, for forty days and forty nights, and neither eat nor drink. He came down from the mount, feeling greatly enriched and miraculously adorned. Moses’s face was glowing, because God want to show great honour to him.
Father, we always look for Your help. Although we could see Your greatness in our lives, we still doubt Him sometimes. Questions like :Will my help come? Will He come this time? What if He had come already? ... Father, maybe Your love isn't always showy, maybe Your grace isn't always easy to be recognised, but I choose to trust You, today and everyday of our lives.

Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the story of Naaman. He was a great warrior, "a great man in the sight of his master and highly regarded", but he had leprosy. He was ashamed about his illness. He was sent to the prophet Elisha to get healing. He expected Elisha to heal him instantly, but instead Elisha told him to bathe in the Jordan River seven times. Naaman was angry.
Father, aren't we proud of ourselves as always? How often do we come to the Lord and demand from You, some fulfillment of our wishes? Father, You are a loving Father, You promise "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." (Matthew 7:7-8) Father, forgive us, sometimes, we're like Naaman, who, not only demands deliverance, but deliverance in our ways. Father, teach us to humble ourselves infront of You, teach us to be submissive, teach us to be a caring and loving person and grant us a servant's heart.
Father, we are not perfect. We are bound to have something that blemish and diminish us or some damp to our joy. Help us to "let go", help us to understand that our self-worth do not dependent on our abilities and help us to realise that our value will not be lessen by our illnesses either.
Father, You are faithful, when we seek Your blessings, You will send us blessings according to Your timetable and in Your unique way. Father, let us to walk in faith with You each day.

Heavenly Father,
Father, nothing in the world matters, if we only focus on Your love for us.
Father, just how many times You have stretched Your Almighty arms to save us from the mess we were in, this year? If we started to count our blessings, it wasn't too hard to see Your love and grace in our lives. Father, You are the Alpha and Omega, with Your love, we won't be just barely surviving in this world, but we will surely gain surpassing some victories.
Father, forgive our souls being weak, forgive us to source many other different ways to try to pass through difficult times. Father, so often, we tend to escape the pressures in life with all kinds of "other different ways", whether it’s drugs, sex, food, or buying stuff... Father, help us to face the reality, help us to face our circumstances. For it is written, "For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:10), meaning His strength is made perfect in our weakness, meaning His grace is enough to enlighten and enliven us, sufficient to strengthen and comfort in all afflictions and distresses.
Father, please continue to look after us, to love us, to cherish us, to take care of us, each and everyday, until the time we meet again.
In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father,

Today’s Verse:
"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved." - Ephesians 2:4-5
Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
We are all sinners, after Adam and Eve were being tempted and had commited their first ever sin, by consuming the forbidden fruit. Since then, sin was crafted in our blood.
Since we are sinners already, sometimes, we will excuse ourselves from falling into all sorts of Satan's traps. But God is a faithful God, He wouldn't let us to fall into any kind of temptation from the devil and then leave us there to die! It is written "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when we are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." i.e. God builds an "exit" on every temptation in our lives.
Father, remind us that we are NOT sinners anymore, because You are just so rich in mercy that by the blood of Jesus on the cross, our sins have been forgiven. Hence, we have developed a brand-new relationship with You through Your grace!
Father, Thankyou for reaching down from Heaven to save us out of our messes, every now and then. Thankyou for handling the lion and wild animals in our lives and replace them with these harmless little lambs. Father, grant us grace, grant us Your kindness and gentleness. May You bless us and cherish us as always, until the day we meet again.

Today’s Verse:
"We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. " - Romans 15:1
Prayer for Today :
Heavenly Father,
Everyday we hear news about people who attempted suiside or died. Nowadays, there are more and more youngsters who attempted suicide.
Here was extraction from one of those young man's "death note" - "Mum and Dad, I never did develop into a real person, ... empty life I've created with no connection to family or friends... I've led a detached existence. I'm a bomb of frustration and... it's best to defuse the bomb harmlessly now. Simply cremate me as 'John Doe.'"
Father, Job 5:7 says "Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward", meaning that as humans, we will definitely walk into difficult situations every now and then, as surely as sunrise. Situations like: loneliness, insecurity, hopelessness, unattainable perfectionism, lost, illness, depression, broken relationships, unemployment, sleeplessness etc.
Father, it is written "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.", as believers, how can we help these lost souls?
Father, if we ever pop into one of these kids, grant us wisdom to counsel them, grant us strength to convince them that suicide is not the only way out for them. Father, help us to lend them a listening ear and provide them a shoulder to lean on. It is written "In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling. "
