Today’s Verse:
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?" Psalm 22:1

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Does this verse sound familar to You? Some of us have been shouting about this "forsaken" sentence to You for years! This is surely our sorrowful complaints to You, when we cannot feel Your presence in our lives.

The most honourable person amongst us who shouted this sentence to You is our beloved Jesus. Being truly man, Jesus felt a natural unwillingness to pass through such great sorrows, yet he had to go through all these, to fulfill the prophecy.

Father, we have too much on our plates that we can complain about - "Why am I sick?", "Why am I poor?", "Why am I suffering?"... These are just some savours of discontent and worldliness. Father, we know that You allowed the situations to bring out something in the lives, to change and to transform us into a better person.

Father, hear us as we cried out in confusion. Although we know that You are doing us good for presenting us with all these situations and consequences, we are only human. Help us to step forward with faith, as we hold on to Your love and grace. Father, tough times never last, but tough people do, train us to be deighted in Your eyes.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
