Today’s Verse:
"Now Naaman was commander of the army of the king of Aram. He was a great man in the sight of his master and highly regarded, because through him the LORD had given victory to Aram. He was a valiant soldier, but he had leprosy. " 2 Kings 5:1

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the story of Naaman. He was a great warrior, "a great man in the sight of his master and highly regarded", but he had leprosy. He was ashamed about his illness. He was sent to the prophet Elisha to get healing. He expected Elisha to heal him instantly, but instead Elisha told him to bathe in the Jordan River seven times. Naaman was angry.

Father, aren't we proud of ourselves as always? How often do we come to the Lord and demand from You, some fulfillment of our wishes? Father, You are a loving Father, You promise "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." (Matthew 7:7-8) Father, forgive us, sometimes, we're like Naaman, who, not only demands deliverance, but deliverance in our ways. Father, teach us to humble ourselves infront of You, teach us to be submissive, teach us to be a caring and loving person and grant us a servant's heart.

Father, we are not perfect. We are bound to have something that blemish and diminish us or some damp to our joy. Help us to "let go", help us to understand that our self-worth do not dependent on our abilities and help us to realise that our value will not be lessen by our illnesses either.

Father, You are faithful, when we seek Your blessings, You will send us blessings according to Your timetable and in Your unique way. Father, let us to walk in faith with You each day.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
