Today’s Verse:
Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on. - Mark 12:43-44

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Thankyou for this teaching on the Widow's Offering. Jesus showed his compassion to the widow. He didn't condemn the widow for giving. Jesus also told us that God, our Father's concern was not on the face amount of tithing, but the motive, attitude, and financial condition of the givers.

There was once a fund raising execise in New York. It wasn't a success until a poor woman sold her bed for US$13.00 and contributed the money. Similarly, there was a movie called "A letter to God", describing how a young boy fought against cancer as well as having firm faith on God by writing Him letters daily.

God, You are great. You always show us these short stories which inspire us, encourage us to hold on to our everyday lives. Miracles don't need to be huge, as long as we understand the meaning underneath.

"How many are your works, O LORD!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
There is the sea, vast and spacious,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.
These all look to you
to give them their food at the proper time.
May the glory of the LORD endure forever;
may the LORD rejoice in his works." (Psalm 104: 24, 25, 27, 31)

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
