Today's Verse:
"And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.” - Luke 1:20
Heavenly Father,
The famous story about "Jesus Walks on the Water", illustrated how Peter "sinked" into the water as he lost faith toward Jesus. Interesting enough that there was another short but precise story about the same topic "faith". Thankyou Father, for giving us this story of Zechariah (Luke 1).
Zechariah was a man of God, a minister of his day. Together with his wife Elizabeth, they had served God their entire lives. Then one day in his aging years while tending to his duties in the church, the Angel Gabriel came to visit Zacharias abd told him about the coming of his God granted gift, a son called John. But Zachariah had a little trouble believing the unbelievable, so he asked for a SIGN and Gabriel said "You will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words..." (Luke 1:20).
Zachariah's story reminds us "not to doubt and unbelief in God's ability to heal or restore us from our broken lives".
Father, sometimes, we are messed up and worsen, we might not even realised that we're messed up! Father, we are only average human in the world, somewhat polluted, if we failed to believe in your promises or your will for us, mute us, like you have muted Zachariah, so that we may learnt our lessons and get back "on to track" and get on the path which you have prepared for us i.e. kick start our better lives from where we have got lost!
In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
