Today’s Verse:
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." Colossians 2:6-7

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

What is faith? The definition from the dictionary is:
1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.
3. Loyalty to a person or thing
4. The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will.

Talking about faith, we cannot escape from Hebrews 11. Verse 17-21 says:
By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death. By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future. By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.

Father, after reading all these, frankly speaking, we are still quite lost. So, faith is just taking courage to go ahead, to do Your will without any logical sense? Faith is trusting You and try to walk on the water? Faith is like Jesus who said “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

Father, faith has nothing to do with the definition or what people have had done in the past to SHOW their faith. Father, faith really means to trust You with all our hearts and minds and souls, so that, through prayers, we put our future into Your hands and we unload our burdens onto You. Father, as all Christians do, the more they walk with You along their everyday life, the more they experience Your goodness, the more they trust You and believe You ... Father, let us continue to build our faith in You this way, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live our lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as we were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
