Today’s Verse:
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Genesis 1:26

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

Man was made last of all the creatures, so that man can rule over them. Man was created differently also, from all that had been made before. Man was made in Your image to glorify the Father.

But Father, everyday, we open the news, we see the wrong kind of abundance - the abundance of evil, death, loss and hopelessness. “Where are You in all of this, Father?" "Don’t You care about us anymore, Father?”

This is simply too much to absorb! When You created mankind, You gave us a position and a responsibility! You gave us the authority and rulership over the whole earth! Yet, the world has became so lousy... Sometimes, we felt that we were in this world of evil, waiting to be tortured to death!

Father, we should never look at You as ungrateful because You are always our merciful Father. Although, we don't understand why certain things happen, we will always choose to trust You. Let us spend a few moments to read through Mother Teresa's poem and feel her compassion towards the needy. Let us learn from her.

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.

Mother Teresa’s Poem –The Final Analysis

“People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone may destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is all between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.”
