Today’s Verse:
"We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. " - 2 Thessalonians 1:3

Prayer for Today :

Heavenly Father,

In Thessalonians, Paul repeatedly talked about something important, such as children should like their parents. Both 1 & 2 of Thessalonians emphasised that Christian living is faith, hope and love.

Father, faith is like the light that we hold on dearly, in the times of our darkness. When we were all alone in the darkness, we may feel scared, alarmed and startled, not knowing what would happen next... We would be full of doubts. But it is written, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. " (Psalm 119:105) With faith, we do not need to know what is ahead of us. With faith, we know that You, Father, have our best interest at heart, so there is no need to panic. With faith, we only need to take one step at a time, relying on our "foot lamp".

Father, we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Father, in this sinful world, we could find absolutely no sercurity in anything. We tend to worry about our job, our health, our friends, our relatives, our relationships...everything. Father, hope gives us the means for emancipation. Through hope we are able to live our lives without the worries of the future. For it is written "So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matthew 6:31-34)

Love will bring all things into harmony. If we have faith and hope that our Heavenly Father will take care of us, then, what else do we have except offering our love to one another? When we are in the loving arms of our parents or our children, we feel complete, we feel that all our worries fly away instantly. We feel peaceful "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Father, we have all these worries and troubles and sadness and disappointments and day-to-day issues etc. We can only put all of them into You hands, Father, through prayer and meditation of Your words. Father, we will let You know all our concerns and worries and frustration. Father, there is a time for everything, and will wait and persevere through faith, hope and love, until our problems get resolved by You!

In Christ's glorious Name we pray, Amen.
