Today’s Verse:
But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
"Come," he said. - Matthew 14:27,29

Prayer for Today :

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thankyou for teaching us to hold on to faith through this miracle, which is about Peter, accomplishing a seemingly impossible task - walking on the waters of the Sea of Galilee. He held on to faith, rested his eyes on Jesus and walked on water towards him.

Father, we understand that the water and storm in this story symbolised the problems we encountered in our Christian's lives. Father, teach us how to walk on water like Peter.

Father, help us to be like Peter, who obeyed Jesus' invitation, to walk towards him.
Father, help us to be like Peter, who trusted Jesus, got out of the boat and walked on the water.
Father, help us to be like Peter, who lost faith when he saw the fierce wind and waves, but cried out immediately to Jesus for help.
Father, help us to be like Peter, who recognised Jesus, as "Truly you are the Son of God."

God, don't we all like to arrive at our destination in spite of any troubles or severe problems on our way? God, make haste to help us. God, urge us to have the boldness to cry out to Jesus, when we experience difficulty, distress, nuisance, sorrow, trial, worry or tribulation. God, give us the confidence to hold out our hands, expecting Jesus, who will definitely catches us by his gracious hands and raises us above these seemingly impossible surroundings.

Father, though we may not walk across the water in ease, we may not walk across these faith-testing circumstances so simply, but do help us to hold on to faith, always. Because You are our Heavenly Father, who will never leave us or forsake us, who will definitely save us from sinking into despair, who will surely rescue us using Your miraculous powers when we cry for help.

In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
